This thread made me wonder...

Are there any aftermarket car alarm, which has a key-fob, which allows keyless starts.. Like on new Merc's, where u can start the car, if u have the key fob in the pocket.

Anyone got a clue of what im blahbling about??

yeah, there are a few about. You can get them pretty cheap on ebay but i dont know if the quality will be good, and will not be Thacham approved. Clifford do a remote start, not sure on the model, C4 rings a bell but im not sure.

sure this has been discussed before!! and it was painful then!
nearly all minis need choke to start, and therefore a keyless start would be fun, but pointless!!
plus dont forget to not leave it in gear before u remote start, then it will be more than ignition your worrying about!

Right ive got my start kit but it says that you conect it via the ignition barrel, you dont need the ignition barrel for the button to work do you?

Also how do you turn the engine off?

Thanks guys, Tomm

I personally don't think there chav at all. Considering vintage cars used to have them.

Also it can be used as a good security feature if you have the button hidden under the dash or whatever.
