Although, I do love the Tench in the pond, theres a few Golden Tench, which I've caught before, but unfortunalty, back then I never had a camera

My normal way of tenching, is to fill a mediem sized feeder, start off with some form of paste, fill either maggots, drop of smelly liquid... (like the carp stuff) more paste to keep maggots in.
Few casts to get the bait on the floor, then swap to a smaller feeder just to top up the swim.
I catch tench all day long then!

we had a really good day at blassfords hill. we got there about 8am, it was really windy and cloudy, the carp was caught by Belinda which weighed 4lb 12oz and the rudd a really nice size, i even had to land it lol.
i had 5 carp of similar size, 3 of them on the pole before the pole actually broke, not by the fish though. i switched to the waggler rod and had 2 more carp, a nice size tench similar to dogs one. caught that on luncheon meat.
whilst we were fishing i looked down by my feet and saw a grass snake pass and enter the lake, was quite scary lol.

im off to france a week today!
fishing a really nice lake which doesnt get fished much at all. its 100 acres and half of it doesnt get fished for 8 months out of the year because of the shooting season. we have managed to get on this side of the lake as i think it will be awsome. got two swims on a 50 meter by 10 meter island.
bought about 80kg of bait
i cant wait. its going to be brilliant.
and for those who say sitting behind alarms isnt fun, iv done every sort of fishing going from sea trout to conger in devon, zander to cats and there is just something about carp fishing that allways brings you back. dont knock it till you have tryed it.
