And we've finally got the major external bits complete, namely the arches. Fitting those to a flip-front is a right pain!

The last few mechanical items were sorted out this weekend including replacing rod ends. Replacing rod ends that have never been on the road. Yeah, really poor quality rubber on these....
Not sure how well the new ones will last, we'll have to wait and see.

We inch every closer to MOT time (a matter of weeks now) but there are still surprises to be found...
So we have Metro 4 pot callipers kindle donated many years ago by a friend. They were working when we got them but time has taken its toll on them. I fitted them a while ago but thought I'd give them a refesh before the MOT just to be sure....didn't turn out to well.
Passenger side had one very stick piston which blew a seal out:
And the driver side did the lot:
I didn't really care about the seals blowing out as that's what I was replacing, but as you've probably guessed the pistons are corroded so need replacing now too. What was a £16 job is now a ~£100 job.

The stationary shake down continues.
This time it's yet more crap rubber parts, the radius arm seals. Dead after a couple of years and 0 miles.
Ignoring the dicky paint (that's what you get for not prepping properly) all 4 of the seals were either perished or snapped.
But! There is some good news, it drives!
We're now pretty much ready for an MOT.
And just for good measure, an interior shot now it's all in (needs a hoover).

I had the same on Pootle Icey, had a new set fitted in 2008, did about 200 miles and they had snapped when I took him back off the road in 2009. Wonder how the ones I had fitted in teh summer will last........
Great to see Mutley moving under his own steam though :)
