Was a FANTASTIC SHOW!!!!

There was 3 mile tail backs into wolverhampton and the surrounding towns where just blocked off (in the morning). The police came at one point and flip their lid because noone told them what was happening, errrr well the advertising on the hall entrence and in the paper is a hint!! Thanks for the comment mistro :dontgetit:. The blue'n didn't scrub up too bad considering its the first conorse ive done, not what its cracked up to be though (HARD WORK :)). Think it needs a few more things sorting out for it to be concorse standard :).

Im really really tired now, helping set up all day yesterday then all day today at the show, doesn't do your feet any good!

Brought some standard dampers for me sidewalk and some chrome boot hinges for me blue'n, was going to buy and rocker cover but huddersfield spares had left the caps :goaway:.

Paul.

I think the Himley show has been slowly going down hill to be honest. The first time I went was back in 2001 and it was packed with stalls, traders, club stands etc. After 2004 it seemed to be the same cars show after show. I couldnt afford to go this year which may have been just as well really.

Seems to be getting more popular more than anything, the tail backs where worse this year and it was further in the grounds.

Apparently they was turning traders asway because of space, because its on bigger land and spaced out it looks smaller but its bigger than last year IIRC.

Coverage on ITV central news the evening aswell.

I thought it was better than last year, a lot bigger! Was my first show though without my Mini, so it was slightly weird :goaway: I got a new head gasket, some oil filters, engine earth strap and renewed my BMC membership :)

I was there bought a full maniflow system.

I thought it was much better than last year being over by the lake rather than being 'penned' in like last year. Some nice chaps even gave me a push up hill when the thirty died and refused to start :goaway:

I think I lost the will to live about 5 times. How many categories where there? seemed about 30, when best GP category came up I think I actually died inside

Not only did it go on to long but has anybody else noticed that its always the same cars that win at this show. I mean how can a car which is used by a polish company as an advert win first prize in its class all the time!!!! I watched the judge and ones that won it was a quick look and marked while others were checked that everything worked!! same winners all the time a fix i smell thats why i dont stop for this ever, but had to this time as we were told we could not move till it had been done. never again!!!!.
Also i think that all the cars which are trailered in,put up on ramps and never driven at all should have there own class "mini never driven but just there to be cleaned to death!" am i on my own thinking that?

I dont know about the judging but all the cars would be so amazing if they were daily drivers and not just toys never been taken out of the box.
The thing that bugs me most about the awards is that he only gives the name and reg, I looked at all those cars and only knew one winner as I was stood next to it. I can't remember a 100 reg plates.Would be good if he told you the model and colour maybe where abouts it's parked so you know what car they are talking about.

Ironicly (is that a word?) the red meguires car next to mine (one with all mirrors and that) only won best presented, the red sportspack behind me won the class and best paint and it was just parked on the grass :D

BMC events are a rip off. himley is one show thats been on the decline for 10 years. to be honest most BMC events are pants. £7 - what a joke. i only go to the shakespeare county show as its local and has racing.
