Does anyone else think that if they had the raffle before cleanest cars awards half the people would go,the other half stick around for the awards and then everyone would be able to get out quicker?
Yes defiantely as soon as the raffle was draw an we all lost

ran the underwear drive there, lost a couple of people because they broke down,
a couple of people went in for petrol starkers lol made me chuckle
i dont have a ball point figure yet but i think weve made just shy of a grand for birmngham kids hospital
you guys in your skimpys creased me up - I'll never be able to look cookies Mrs in the eye again without smiling
We had a couple of minis from our club in the underwear run- a black H-reg cooper and a racing green with bonnet stripes. The guys in the back of the black cooper mooned the photographer as they drove into the show! The photo is really funny, it came out perfectly with a bare bum clearly visible in the back window!

I think all you guys did a great job, hope you'll do it again next year.

don't really understand the complaints, I know before I go to a Mini show that it will practically be identical to every other show of the year...
A few traders, the same concourse minis etc..

Spent a fair wad of money on new Carbon Fibre parts, shiny new accessories and a mint picture of my mini from when we drove in!
I spent so long laughing at all the people on the concours stands polishing the living *melon* out of their cars.
I was parked on the 1990-2000 Concours stand 3 cars up from Pauly and i litterally parked up, locked up, walked off to enjoy the show!!!! I got such evil looks off everyone, but hey, i actually USE my mini - i dont leave it wrapped up in cotton wool in the garage from one show to the next

The only negative to doing the concours was the fact that i couldnt get out the arena to go home

The Mini photographers took plenty of pictures of my mini so im hoping there may be a picture in the next issue

I definatley think the layout was better this year than last year, was a more pleasurable walk round.
Was also nice to meet everyone again off the forum on my walks round the park.

as for the show i brought black bonnet stripes, new window seals, gutter trim and a mini scarf for my window lol
my only thing ide say was a bit naff was the layout of the show, it was just scattered about n due to this i went round the same bit twice without realising untill i saw the big bouncy castle!!!
other than that i thought it was wel worth 7 quid, its a day out
shame about the tenner petrol it cost to get there n back...
mint!

That right it did win that but there blue one won first in moded class, 2 cars 2 prizes not bad for a company that over charges for car wax (its good but over priced). shouldnt be allowed it should be for people who drive them not trailered in and wrapped in cotton wool!Ironicly (is that a word?) the red meguires car next to mine (one with all mirrors and that) only won best presented, the red sportspack behind me won the class and best paint and it was just parked on the grass

Its not meguires who own them its a couple of lads from minisni.com they just get sponsered i think for using their products.

First mini show, even though i used to live within a stone's throw of Himley Hall and i was quite impressed. Enough parts on offer to build a car from scratch.
As for the people polishing the melon's out of their cars, its different strokes for different folk's i suppose, So many immaculate engine bays! it just seems devoid of character without some oil stains.
At the end of the day these people set the standard, and you chose to compete at that level- or do soemthing else that floats your boat.
I was surprised to see so many A series powered cars around, i was hoping to see a few more conversions about. Did i spot a lotus twin cam head on an a series block? with the carbs poking out of the round nose?
My mini days are well over, my back was killing me from working on my brothers car and i grazed my back quickly jumping out of it, plus the money required for me to build a mini for track use is verging on kit car money and i cant warrant a mini over a dedicated kit. Although i ever so nearly got caught by the bug again when walking round.
Had my brothers mini looked over by jefff from mini mag and it does seem he has stumbled upon another unicorn, a 1976 special edition- git.
I treated him to a spare carb i found for £10, so he can strip it and play without causing too much issue

Had a really good day, nice and relaxed, spent a lot of time chilling on our club stand, bought a couple of bits and bobs but nothing major, the major bit is reserved and waiting at Minisport for me to pick up this week. I even managed a bit of sunburn,.. ooops!!
Managed to get out of the show before the queue's started, left about half 3-4pm i reckon, the prize givings had just started. But i heard about the horrific queues of other members of our club.
