However, the analogue readout adjacent to the Rollers was indicating 79 - 80 at the wheels as a maximum, so if you stick an extra 18 to 20 BHP (for transmission losses) that would be around 97 to 100 at the flywheel!!! This sounds a bit high to me so it will go back on for a freebie when they fix the computer.
The really good news is that with a little bit of tweaking of the pressure regulator we got it running sweet with no misfires, fluffing, stuttering etc. Ran it back home and it's running like a dream albeit a bit noisey so the cat will have to go back on this weekend!!
For those that are interested, the pressure regulator is now set at 2.6 - 2.7 bar at idle. The prognosis was that it was fuelling a bit lean at the top end thus the pressure increase.
Will post the graph when I visit again.
As some of the guesses didn't say whether they were at the Flywheel or Wheels it's difficult to award the prize (praise only) but a quick look dow the list sees.....
.....as the winner predicting 80 @ the wheels.

Nah that is billyB either it was S spec or it wasnt.
If it is S spec then id say 77BHP
If it is a standard without head mods.. id say 65 max.. the TB wont make any difference to be honest. Might make it slightly more throaty.
but then again, arent those rollers renowned for being pretty slippy???
In that respect, im gonna say 134 at the wheels
EDIT: DOH! Late! lol

and 99bhp ATW from an mpi is NEVER going to happen!
To be honest, I'd have expected more like 79-80 at the crank than at the wheels....
it's all about how it drives though, not just chasing numbers.

Apparently, when first built by AEG of Birmingham, it was supposed to be equivelant to Works "S" spec'n which I understand was 90 BHP???

I might be wrong here but I belive it was John Cooper who applied the "S" and the "Works" to the MPi's as an upgrade?
My comment was that AEG carried out the same (or very similar) work when they modified it from new (+ a few other bits like a 5 speed box etc.). I guess it's "Technically" correct but "Historically" (i.e "pedigree") NOT???
I'm just happy it's running like a Singer sewing machine
