because the mini cabin is so small, getting the position of tweeters can be a problem, or at least we think it will be with the rig we have in mind, so john saw this idea in a pro-sound car recently and I could resist giving it a try.

mount the tweeters on a suitable surface ( vibe space in this instance ) and attatch to a wing mirror motor and gimble mechanism - now you can tweak their final position with the joggle switch and get it all spot-on.

were looking at possibly using this on our custom dash, and at high level in the rear in the top of the C posts. :D

Looks good, although is that more of a show off thing? as you set the tweeters in the right place when mounting them.

Either way, I love it, and want it in my life.

without a shadow of a doubt - a show-off thing. but hopefully it'll allow John to 'tweak' the final audio staging to his unfeasibly high standards. :D

guage pods can work well, its all about positioning and getting the balance right - Johns been trying to drill this into me recently whilst I mince around with making nice shapes :D

But then i'm thinking it won't sound right becuase i'll have the rest of my components on the parcel shelf, then tweeters up front...

to be honest mike, that will sound pretty disjointed - thought about running some mid-range up front, under the dash rail perhaps?

Thats what i thought.

It depends how into it all you are really. I'm pretty pleased with my coax speakers on the back shelf running off a small amp. I just turn it up and it all sounds great to me.

I might just put all the components on the back shelf and leave it as it is. It'll probably still sound great to me

:)

Somebody has got farrrr too much money on there hands with all that little lot, those vibe space components aren't cheap around the £130 mark, fancy giving me a set :)
Have you heard how they sound and whats the build quality like on them as im thinkin of getting myself a set of these for mine but have heard of some problems due to them being a bit flimsey?

havnt had a proper play with the bigger pieces yet, but the smaller pieces look bullet proof. The crossovers are a bit big IMHO but we've got plenty odf space to loose them in with the modified dash.

purists look away now :)

we needed a lot of room for gizmos and gadgets / toys - so this kinda made sense.

Your not the first and I certainly cant see you being the last person to fit one of those, forgive me for saying this people but I really do think they suit the classic mini rather well and look top once fitted :)

Ah thats good news to hear about them looking bulletproof, was abit worried about forking out 130 notes if they were easy to break. I was also a bit shocked about the sheer size of the crossover but oh well, they can be lost somewhere out of sight :)
