well, brief update.......

metal work is progresing, we have about half the parts we need to set up the front subframe, but the biggest development is a change in running gear.
we're going red-top.
turbo.

got this c20let to pick up in the next couple of days, and we raped a phat nova of its c20xe and a few other bits last week.

its going to be noisy. >_<

new shiny bits - managed to finally locate our recommended rather exotic turbo-charger, ITI VF34 off jap spec WRX. Its been suggested this will give us plenty of good progressive grunt from 3000-3500 rpm, and is rated for 280 - 325 BHP so our target of 300 BHP is looking good.

engine will be stripped down next week and head is off for a check-over and re-valve, and hopefully we can start bolting it all back together again. We got ARP's sorted for most areas, and the remainder should all be sorted this week.

the reverse option is there, we were considering it, but after IMM I'm reassured we dont really need it - two times we got stuck, but people just drop everything to help, and they think its hilarious :D
plus the 1000 quid it would take has just gone on the turbo for shaggy :)

see - thats a stroke of near genius ( dont tell anyone, but the R1 cabriolet has a push-bike brake cable as throttle cable ) 2 years in and it still works !! and I got it from halfrauds

Yes, but is the cable still attached to the bike?????

See, now I've got this vision of S-F-M. with a push bike in his passengers seat using the brake to control the throttle of the mini!!

(sometimes I just make myself laff!!)
