I have just seen this on another forum http://forum.minicoo...p...1272&page=5 and find it hard to believe what MINI are doing. I have just emailed MINI and told them I am now trading my new Cooper S for another brand. I think I will stick with my classic Cooper!!
Am I over reacting? What are your views everyone?

That cubed lump of scrap looks like a health 'n safety related compo claim just waiting to happen.
Are there any yellow lines- I'd be tempted to hire a MINI for the day and park it up with "get this - and lose £xxxx in depreciation in the first year" in big letters down the side.
Of course, if we had the dealership's phone number we could all ring up and enquire how much they want for the really nice Mini on the seesaw.

Imagine if someone wanted to trade in their New Bini for the beautiful Mini on the seesaw... They would sure hate it.
Does the cars which are traded in as part of the scheme get automatically crushed? I would have thought they would have sent them to breakers yards as they would be then non registered (as if they were under a CAT B insurance loss).

I wonder how many people who have actually asked to buy it? Does anybody know where the dealership is?

Would it be really immature if we tried to see how many phone enquiries we could make before 10:10 tomorrow morning?
DO IT!!!
First one to arrange a test drive gets a biscuit.

Blo*dy hel*, that dealer is just up the road from me... Shocker... If we are going to do the phone thing, I think we need to see whos all up for it. Is there some way to make a vote or something on this site that would show the numbers?
Maybe some of the scottish clubs could do something in protest, can't quite think what at the moment though... As for parking up, you can't park there, its a one way system, yellow line and a very busy stretch of road.
buggers. Apart from anything, the car on the ramps looks in way better nick than mine!!!!

Apparently it's already been traded in under the scheme
But hey since the salesman said they've had so many enquiries a few more can't hurt
Callers so far:

Protest sounds good, but wouldn't we get arrested? And yes, I guess they do have customer parking. Sadly though, chances are people would probably misunderstand the gesture and think it was some kind of BMW arranged stunt!! It would be good if someone was daring enough to paint 'Murder' on the side of the car (not me by the way, I'm not brave enough!)
Maybe a 'funeral style' drive past at the weekend ?
EDIT - not sure if it would help, but I guess we could all send letters, asking if they would please use a different vehicle for the display, as it sends the wrong message and already there is speculation that the British classic industry stands to suffer heavily as a result of the scrappage scheme. Also, that any current mini owners considering buying a BINI will 100% be put off by this display?
