Not as of yet unfortunatly. The rear has griden to a hault at the moment as its been kicked out the shed for a while and outside is wet and bad for painting and inside is offbounds with any car bit/paintbrush!

22nd of oct is when my dad will be given me the bits for the engine - providing it comes in time. (Was ordered on Monday) And thats in the hols. So between my 16th 'Staying at a mates in freshwater' and actually not being able to remember the nite before and a few days at work i'll hopefuuly get the bits bolted on and then source some orange and black engine paint.

ITS HERE! All the bits for my engine are now thanks to dad! Depending on the weather im either planning on rebuilding my carb or doing all the bits for my engine tommorow. Only problem is that i dont have a torque wrench at home at the moment for the head bolts. So if i do, do the engine i had better remember to go back over it another time :D

And yesterday was great - I dont remember a thing! :w00t:

Thanks mate :ermm:

Spent this morning stripping down the carb and left it all to soak in degreaser. Probably reassemble it this evening. No progress piccs but i'll get some of the final product :D

Found a dizzy gaurd up the road from me, the bloke wants £4 for it ;) and considering they're usally £20 plus i thought id nab it for now. Supposed to be picking it up over the weekend.

Might get a mush on with the engine as well over the weekend as my brother's bringing his torque wrench home form work so i can clean up the block and rplace the gasket.

Two items im selling at the moment, if i can shift them, i wont be too far off enough for most of the suspension (Mini Tastic Fast Road Kit) Only thing is i'll need another £150 for the shocks

Cabs all done :) YAY! Only problem is i lost one little piece which i dont know what it called! Haha.

On the pipe that goes from the bottom of the float chamber too the main body of the carb, there was a little assembly in there with a spring and a few nuts, and the pipe sits in it and has a little locator to hold it in with a plate on top, its the locator i dropped and cant find :gimme:

Poor description to say the least but i'll hunt for it tommorow  With some pics if i can find my camera uplod cable :P

^The copper coloured bit by my thumb is what the little locator bit went into. The feed from the float chamber is supposed to sit inside.

Although its still dirty im thinking about spraing the dashpot or getting one of those chrome covers just to tidy it up a bit. (I find scrubbing it tedious by the way :P)

And i picked up the dizzy guard this morning for a grand total or £5 :gimme: Sprayed it when i got home and is having another coat in black soon.

Im also having second thoghts on colour after seeing a stunning pic by roofless. Old English White with carbon fibre bumpers, arches and roof skin.

If this does grow on me i could even make carbon external hinges at college... :gimme:

Would anyone be able to do a photoshop mock up for me? Cant seem to find anything like it on the tinterweb.

This afternoon had nought to do so fiqured id make a stand for my engine. Really simple wood structure and points to tie it down just incase... :(

Tommorows planned :)

Getting some paint in the morning from Halfraurds aswell as a new sump gasket. Few bits to do mechanically and then attack it with some new color! My brothers engine out of his cortina was painted with just normal paint as oppose to high temp stuff and it never peeled/flaked even though it was foreveroverheating. So im hoping i'll get away with it to. :(

Also on a side note - Whats the easiest way to remove old manifold studs that are well and truly fused to he head?

Some more piccys! I wont bother with any text, the pics kinda cover it. But i will say the paint is Halfrauds own brand Matt barbaque spray which goes up to 600'C apprently and that the dizzy guard is now black as well as the radiator cowling.

Thanks im really pleased with how well it came out. The block is going the same color and im on the look for some shiny silver spray for odds and sods like the thermostat housing and core plugs etc...
