I'm about an inch away from buying a mini, and to be honest im not really fussed but my dad think its important so... Will a Mini happily cruise at 70 down the motorway, or will it hate me eternally for it and not do it any good, is it also a relatively easy option to fit a 5 speed gearbox.

i can happily cruise at 70 all day, but i agree with most people the noise is stupid, especially if your getting exhaust filter etc... seems a little quiter at 80 for some reason, dosnt drone on as much dont ask me why, just turn ur sterio up and the engine noise goies away lol

You can tell how loud it's getting by the amount you have to increase the radio volume to hear anything, then when you come to a stop the radio's blowing your eardrums out!!!!

Agreed I use the motorway as little as possible as a straight'ish road is boring
