If it wasnt all the way up north I would have just for the engine. Shame to see it though, would have mede a good project for someone.
Its great the way we are asked to recycle everything apart from cars.

All i can say is atleast they are giving people a chance to get bits from it etc and not just crushing the lot, Still a shame though

somebody already linked this <_<

I didn't see this bit of the scrappage scheme coming, personally I've always thought the scrapage theme is a good idea anyway, as I gets polluting death traps off the road. Unfortunately as the Mini is a mass production classic it fits into that category

Anyway, I didn't realise, in a way, that the scrappage theme was no different to a car having a crash and being classed as a write off, I thought they got crushed!!!

THAT GREAT NEWS

1 crap Mini off the road, helping to save our nice ones!!!!

bumps up the price of good ones i suppose and it's not as if it's a total loss as people will buy it for spares.

Is there anyway LEGALLY that the shell could be used? Could it be re-used on a Q-Plate? If it was, would the vin have to be ground off?

Well isn't keeping decent Mini's on the road a better thing? for those of us who are passionate about it.

How many Mini's like the eBay linked one would currently end up on the scrap heap each year anyway??

The chances are if the owners are willing to trade in Mini's for new cars they aren't passionate about Mini's, and they basically have them as a run about/first car etc.

You can tell this owner doesn't care about his Mini from the state of it, so the chances are it would have more than likely been scrapped/sold for £300 anyway.
