Would A Bent Needle Do This?

Right, ignition seems ok, cleaned the rotor arm and the cap contats. Started it up and it won't rev cleanly now
If you incease the revs very gradually it will pick up, if you go to "blip" the throttle it'll die, it'll rev cleanly if you move the choke lever. Took the needle out after and it's an AAU (stg1 kit). Am I better off to reset the mixture jet and try tuning it from there? Anyone got any other ideas??? I'm at a loss now!

Sounds like its the correct needle, just running too lean perhaps? There is a nut under the carb if looking from above, turn it clockwise to richen , anticlockwise to weaken.

Tried it already, went a long way in both direction but it still did it, gonna stick the timing light on it in case I moved the dizzy by accidentSounds like its the correct needle, just running too lean perhaps? Perhaps post up a new thread for help after you have checked the timing as its running the correct needle etc, the only other thing I can think of is an air leak somewhere
