hi i dont no if any one has come across this before but my mini has mood swings. sum times i have loads of power then it jus goes. i the a k&n air filter would that have a effect on this??

clean all the connections to the sensors and and see how that helps, they can play havoc with running i know from past experiences. :)

Advancing the dizzy on an SPi does nothing other than cause problems with burning dizzy caps. That is unless it was already out of adjustment and you have actualy corrected it.

The advance is purely controlled by the ECU and cannot be changed

also true!! i have been thinking off a lcb rather than the standard manifold for a while now but am not sure on flowing the inlet manifold or jus go with lcb as the car is lacking after 3250rpm it feels like the ecu wont allow more fuel or air in?? also can any one tell me how the k&n bolt on filter works on a spi dose it do away with the sensors??

there is only 1 sensor in the filter which transfers into the new K&N filter, personally i would just use the standard housing with a K&N panel filter as i have the cone and its so much faffing around to get the cone on properly.

ive got an lcb, made a noticable difference, and have flowed my inlet but not sure if it works well yet as the final parts of my engine are being held up by the post, what was urgent next day delivery has become 3 days!, UK mail are useless.

i went for the maniflow lcb, there a really good quality exhaust, best to buy the best ;D

yes i did it myself, if you take it off it has two big lumps/ restrictive things on the head side of the inlet manifold, ground these off, then smoothed it a little, then gave it a mega wash out in the sink to get the filings out, still havnt used it tho :P so cant say wether it makes a difference or not lol.

p.s. id complain about those pads buddy
