Its getting close now ;) ;) Today (saturday) I will get a train to

i.e. oil-tyres-sparkplugs and the like, Sunday I will give it a wee clean.
Then on tuesday night I will leave at 5.30pm and drive from Irvine to Galashiels

On Thursday we arrive in Holland and then its a loooooooooooooooooong drive
to the IMM (with a couple of stops) we should be there about 6pm all going well, I

can I make that my avatar? How do I do that?

No probs, I knicked it off a poster on a motorbike forum.

Right click on the avatar, left click on the "Save picture as" option and save it to a folder on your hard drive. Then upload the avatar from the folder using your TMF control panel as usual.

Really excited now :D :D only 3 days until we leave for Dover (Im going with the Norfolk mini owners)

Gave the mini a proper clean yesterday and will do another one on tuesday, been sorting out a nice big box of spares as well just in case :)

Slightly nervous about the drive because I've never driven abroad before but it should make it much easier being in a convoy with everyone.

Looking forward to meeting everyone there! See you in a few days!

I'm fairly sure that's how I did it, maybe it would be best to ask one of the mods.

Cheers, I have the boot full of tools and spares but it is good to know that there will be some back up at the show.

hi all,

i need to ask a favor from someone,

ive managed to get hold of some wheels that ive been after for ages, problem is there in another country,
long story short, they guy selling them is willing to take them to the imm in germany.

so is there anyone going who would be willing to pick up 4 10x6 wheels for me?
once there back in the uk ill organise a corrier to collect, or ill do it myself if its not too far.

of course there will be some beer money for the trouble.

can anyone help me out?

cheers all

si

Off today - Hull to Zeebrugge soooooooooooooooo excited. Our lad went over on Monday and yesterday on his way to Munich they met some border police at a petrol station who promptly asked them to empty their vehicles for checking. If they do that to us it could take a while !

Safe Journey everyone - see u there

We went from brighton to dunkirk on thursday night, then dunkirk straight to Newmarkt on friday.

After a 10 hrs drive we got there, to find that our tickets werent worth the paper the were printed on, on the thursday they had decided to let in a load of people who didnt even have booked tickets, so the place was packed, people were camped in an opposing field and car park that werent even part of the site, they were on grass verges in the place, and the car parks in the place, having to hold the tents down with six inch nails.

There were 150 people in the queue ahead of us and there were discussions of turning people away.

Lucky for us one of our party managed to sneek in and get our packs and bands, and get talking to the torbay and somerset mini clubs, who told us to throw our tents over the barriers to them and they would condense their spaces even further to fit us in.

Thanks to those guys we got in and had a great time with them. After we saw everything in the show, on the sunday morning we decided to go to the Maybach museum that was in the same town.

Once back at the camp we decided to leave on the sunday instead of the monday to beat the rush, and drove to frankfurt and found a nice hotel and a decent bed for the night. Yesterday ( monday morning) we detoured, to take in the nurburgring, as we had gained some time by leaving the night before. That was a great experience. Even saw a porsche stack it on one of the corners.

Then we had the drive back to dunkirk for the 10pm ferry, and I finally mad it back at about 1.45am this morning.

I went with hubby on the hull - Zeebrugge crossing weds might met the Tykes while waiting to board. Drive down to the Rhine for an overnight stop then on to Neumarkt on Friday. We arrived about 2pm so missed the queues that arrived later. Camping could have been organised better clubs had taped off areas and some had ample space for more campers. It was basically a big car park. Still when finally knocked the heavy duty nails in had a great time. Seen some fantastic cars and met some great people - beer not bad too. Left Sunday and had an overnight in Bad Munstereifel - awesome roads. Arrived home today over 1250 miles in a mk1 cooper and not even a sneeze - brill. :) :) :)

Yes, there were many clubs reserving far more space than they realy needed. Opposed to us was a BMW with a caravan who parked there on thursday and was never found so could not made to move the caravan. He took space for at least 10 Minis with tents! But appart from that I think it was well organised, toilets were clean all day & night, food was good, beer was good - I enjoyed it very much!

we had to organise a new ignition coil for my Mini on the way back, apart from that everything went fine. Except I had a sliping clutch and was only able to use 1/2 throttle :)

by the way: latest numbers: about 4800 people with 2500 Minis

@Rosslin Racing:
Yes, was nice meeting you! :)

Cheers,
Jan
