Still we got a pitch across the road and had a good look around sat/sunday we set off back sunday afternoon (after re-building a hub, and changing an inlet manfold) got back with no major problems and home to cumbria for around 12.30.
It was a good event and the staff did well considering the problems they faced, all in all a good holiday.

Maybe I was spoilt by the 2009 IMM in Birmingham which had ample space, far more food / drink on offer, more trade, more displays, and a lot more going on for the same price.
Don't get me wrong I thoroughly enjoyed myself but It just wasn't as good as I was expecting and if there were only 19 members of the Bavarian mini club trying to organise an event hosting near on 5000 people why didn't they get more help.
I felt some what ripped off having paid £90 in advance for a place that didn't exist when I turned up. All the marshals could say was to pitch up in a field that was not part of the IMM

Being a fellow member of Keiths party, for the trip, it was the people I was with that made the trip for me, not the actual show.

felt very sorry for everyone in the big Q and it was very disorganised, well no organisation at all for your 'pre-booked' spaces. cant help but feel the photo opportunity really slowed things down when people were trying to get in.
but apart from that, everything else was superb....for a small club to pull off a big event like that was brilliant, food was good without big Q's, toilets and showers were as good as you'll get at any camp-site, entertainments were pretty good, seem to remember the whole of the Torbay club being on stage at one point which made me giggle

the bars were very good

trade area was quite small, not as many traders as I might have expected, but that worked well for me in the end I guess - looked like Mike was pretty swamped on the Rosslin Racing stand pretty much all the time, and I think I'd have been a bit stressed with that, we set up shop next to where we were camping and seemed to get a lot of attention.
I think each year it seems to improve, each new club learning info from the last group of organisers, so Switzerland should be pretty impressive. I do hope they allocate space properly, and I think it might be nice if the Brits camped a bit closer to one another, maybe in a 'little Britain' area of our own - like the Swiss and Bulgarians did ?
agree with the other comments, its the people that make the event, and for me this year it was great, saw lots of old friends, made loads of new ones and managed to sell a bunch of stuff too with the help of stella and crocks

2014? in the south I think.......where they host southern mini days perhaps ?

Thanks for the loan of the socket set Bazzer and Dickie for the Jack. The ERA was perfect on the way home with it's new wheel bearing.
How about a fix it area at an IMM, a hard standing where people can donate tools, parts, and labour to help IMM'ers carry out running repairs.

In the end we managed to sort something out with another club and we all managed to squeeze in on the car park.
Everyone was a bit stressed after all that and I didn't think it was going to get any better, but after we all pitched up and settled down it slowly got better

As roofless said, there wasn't many traders, but the ones that were all had a good range of bits. (got a nice new "bad, worse, off" heater sticker....thanks roofless

What I enjoyed the most though as others have said was the company of everyone there, thats what made it so special, I met so many people from all over the world and it was great just chatting away for hours, there was just a great atmosphere around the whole site.
All in all I really enjoyed it, there were things that could have been organized better but on the whole they did very well... I have the IMM bug now and am already looking forward to next year!

We went from brighton to dunkirk on thursday night, then dunkirk straight to Newmarkt on friday.
After a 10 hrs drive we got there, to find that our tickets werent worth the paper the were printed on, on the thursday they had decided to let in a load of people who didnt even have booked tickets, so the place was packed, people were camped in an opposing field and car park that werent even part of the site, they were on grass verges in the place, and the car parks in the place, having to hold the tents down with six inch nails.
There were 150 people in the queue ahead of us and there were discussions of turning people away.
Lucky for us one of our party managed to sneek in and get our packs and bands, and get talking to the torbay and somerset mini clubs, who told us to throw our tents over the barriers to them and they would condense their spaces even further to fit us in.
Thanks to those guys we got in and had a great time with them. After we saw everything in the show, on the sunday morning we decided to go to the Maybach museum that was in the same town.
Once back at the camp we decided to leave on the sunday instead of the monday to beat the rush, and drove to frankfurt and found a nice hotel and a decent bed for the night. Yesterday ( monday morning) we detoured, to take in the nurburgring, as we had gained some time by leaving the night before. That was a great experience. Even saw a porsche stack it on one of the corners.
Then we had the drive back to dunkirk for the 10pm ferry, and I finally mad it back at about 1.45am this morning.
it was a great pleasure to help you guys out - we had a great laugh - and we weren't gonna see anyone from england being turned away - its a long way to go and the least we could do to help you

We stopped off at the Nurburgring on the way back which was fab too if a little scary going round the outside of Karusel with a stream of Porkers, Scoobys, Evos and the like going round the banking under us and arriving at a crest and seeing the barrier in front of us but not knowing if the track went left or right!
Some of my favourites:

Our neighbour's lovely 1275GT:

Some of the slightly more expensive kit being about to be ragged round the Nordschleife:

I went with hubby on the hull - Zeebrugge crossing weds might met the Tykes while waiting to board. Drive down to the Rhine for an overnight stop then on to Neumarkt on Friday. We arrived about 2pm so missed the queues that arrived later. Camping could have been organised better clubs had taped off areas and some had ample space for more campers. It was basically a big car park. Still when finally knocked the heavy duty nails in had a great time. Seen some fantastic cars and met some great people - beer not bad too. Left Sunday and had an overnight in Bad Munstereifel - awesome roads. Arrived home today over 1250 miles in a mk1 cooper and not even a sneeze - brill.

Hi nice to see you made it back ok im still atonished how big your tent was LOL ... we were camped on the grass verge very near the exit in fact we moved the exit to get another tent in ..... nobody noticed in fact we could have moved the exit another 200 yds and got more tents in i did suggest it .... we didn't get much sleep but i think it was down to the amount of beer .... the show for me being a first timer at an IMM was take it as it comes we had a brilliant time its the people that make it ......

we set off sunday and stopped off at Saarburg for a couple of days more beer ......

then back via Hull ............... rgds Rusty Panel aka slim
