Dad has come climbing carabiners & straps so we can use them.
Hopefully going to construct a spit soon as well, we've got the dimensions.

I love your project, coming along nicely, it's nice when your parents think about you and provide a nice warm enviroment to work in makes life so much easier and more bearable, in relation to the spit if you look on my thread I uploaded plans and a steel cutting list for a spit the other week, this may help you out.
Keep up the good work
Cheers
Andy

This time last year the garage wasn't built and I remember working in the driveway in the drizzle, fingers numb trying to fiddle around getting nuts on bolts
& I'll take a look at the plans, cheers Andy

Tidied up the garage a lot, sorted through all my bits. Organised into boxes or thrown away.
I've got a set of rear shocks and a set of brake drums for free, come and pick them up. If no one wants them then I'll throw them.

Before Christmas the rear subframe WILL be done, possibly the engine put back together as well.

Dad practicing.

His first two.

Me welding.

My first two.

Quite a nice tidy weld I did, although it's quite thick.. which would be bad for grinding down. But if it's hidden it'd be fine.

Then I tried welding two bits together, and ground it down to make it flat.

Three bits welded together, really messy untidy welds. Definitely need more practice with tacking and filling in.

Not a great deal of progress today, I was busy this morning delivering leaflets and I'm babysitting tonight. Any chance when I'm back from Uni to earn money
