We just need to work on mounting the body to the supports that slot onto the long central pole.

Good work Luke, but stop being a fairy. I have to work basically outside and I only wear 2 layers
.

There’s two ways of keeping warm, both of which if done wrong will see you end up blind. Lol
The second of which is, I’ll leave the first up to you (sick minds) is to fire up the welder and get to work

I bunked off with my girlfriend today whilst Dad battled with the mounts and lost.. it seems I didn't clean the metal up on the front 'tie-fighter' and the weld has come loose.. so that's the first problem, the second is that it isn't at the correct angle and the pole when placed through hits the rear seat too low.
So we will re-weld the damaged 'tie-fighter' and clamp it with two u-bolts and straps of metal to keep things in place. And then pack out the wooden blocks at the front to give it more of a lean, meaning the angle increases and the pole with penetrate the rear seat in the right place.
This is the mount that Dad has been working on today

Holes have been drilled in the bottom of the cross member, which will be patched up. This is for extra strength and support.. you can just see the nuts poking out.

Is there any chance you bought the incorrect kit for your year of car?I bought a set of ready made brake pipes for Ratty, when I came to fit them I
found that half the car was UNF and half METRIC, so I had to change some
of the flanges to suit....
My kit has some pipes that have a UNF at one end and a metric at the other.
no i double checked when i ordered them, twin diagonal system.

I've also decided to change the whole outcome of my project and go for a lightweight lowrider

Ha nah, I've been dismantling the doors today.. the OS is the worst, it's too far gone.. the internal runners had rusted against the window, just a big mess. So I took an angle grinder to it and took the whole door apart. I've kept all the internals such as the door locking mechanism & the glass, all the handles etc.. but that door can't be saved.

That's inside the OS. The NS is a lot better, should be able to save that side.
