Looking good Luke, very professional :P

How does it work with using the parcel shelf? Is it just 2 pieces of box section either side?

Gonna give a demo of it upsidedown soon :)

Oh and my Dad is back to work tomorrow, but we did say we'd finish this spit before I go back to Uni, so we will :P

Haven't had a confirmation email from Minispares yet, but I understand it's been the new year and all. Just hope it arrives before I go back on Sunday.

Yep there are two steel box sections either side, one with the tube welded through it, four bolts and the nuts to match.

It all needs packing out with more wood, you can see on the front where a bit more wood needs cutting and drilling to fill that gap.

Don't worry I'll get a video of the first turn, could be disastrous or turn like a dream! :P

Not too worry mate! hopefully again soon. Need to ask you a few things about removing panels when you are here :)

Negative camber kit.

Big assortment of nuts & bolts :)

Posted Image
Handbrake cables.

Hub rebuild kits, x2.

I did also order wheel nuts, but the wrong things.. so they will be going back and I'll pick up a proper set at Bingley hall at the end of this month.

Christmas targets -

+ Get her up on a spit - check!

+ Get the rear subframe made up - sort of check!

I hope this video works..

She spins! the weight took me by surprise when I almost had her spun all the way round ;)

& you can hear and see the bits of rust falling onto the floor :D

Both sides almost built up, I stupidly ordered 4 left hand side hub nuts.. instead of 2 of each.. so that needs to be sorted. I didn't quite get it all done.. but I'm happy :) I won't bother placing another order because it's Bingley soon, will pick all my bits up from there instead.

Took me a good 2-3 hours to get both Camber brackets sitting properly, had to take them off and keep filing one of the holes on each to get the bolt through.

The hub bearings have also been replaced & packed full of grease.

:)

That video reminds me of the first time I roll mine on the spit. Bits of mini just falling out onto the ground.

Works spot on though!

Subframes looking super sexy. Might see you at bingley, loads of bits i need to get too. :D

Loving the spit Luke! Looks like you struggled when the floor came back down though :D Did think there seemed to be alot of rattles coming from it but now its on your can sort all that. Got a list of panels you need yet?

Looks like a very productive day with both the spit and rear subby complete. But I'm hoping im not right with what im saying and its just the picture, but wheres your subframe mounts for the front of the rear subby? If there not on you will have to take the radius arms off to fit them.

So whats next?

Yeah don't worry, I plan on taking it apart again to copper grease everything and torque things correctly :D

I know that everything sits correctly and does as it should, so it should come apart and go together quickly.

I've just seen this in another thread, pretty sure this is the colour I want to have mine sprayed. I just need to identify what colour it is :D & I love those door numbers as well, don't know if they will suit though.

Yep, Dad was in charge of drilling the holes.. so I haven't had a play with it yet to see what angles it sits at, but I trust it'll sit where I need it. But it sits nice and secure :-
