Nice haul there Luke

Were you as daunted as I was when opening the box to the brake pipe haha. See you've got your frontend stored in your bedroom then ;) Good choice on the genuine cones even though you do feel robbed when putting them in the basket :D

Question though; what are the bracket thingys next to your cylinder?

Thanks

They are the brackets for the handbrake, fix onto the back of the backplates, behind the drums.

It feels like forever since I picked up a spanner, had a pickle tonight with assembling the rear backplates.. check under the technical & problems sub-forum.

Oh and I managed to pick up another cylinder from Gearbox in Melton this morning, fantastic little shop! :D

Okay so a half and half day.. made some good leeway, but due to the amount of little bits I forgot.. I couldn't assemble the rear subframe like I wanted to. But on the other hand, I did make some really nice progress.

Getting fed up with my Radius arms.. think I was a bit over ambitious trying to refurb them myself, might just shell out the extra money and get Minispares or elsewhere to do them for me.

First of all I assembled the rear backplates, correctly this time. & applied copper grease where needed.

Posted Image

Next I just teased myself with the wheel caps.. they are safely back in the bags now waiting for when she's sitting on all fours again.

Posted Image

Then I wire brushed down the radius arms & hubs, and ku-rusted them. (both need rebuilding)

Posted Image

Given both a lick of black hammerite.

& everything ready to go back on, but I couldn't because of a few various missing nuts, bolts, sleeves & brackets..

Promise I'll get more done next time :(

Already listing up some things I forgot, going for fixed negative camber brackets for the rear.. it's one less thing to tamper with if it's fixed. Then it's just nuts & bolts that I forgot about. & a rebuild kit for the hubs.

Will ring up Minispares tomorrow and enquire about reconditioning the radius arms.. and I'll ring up Mini Mail as well and chase my Superfins.

Going with Mini-its for reconditioning the radius arms & Mini Mail said expect the Superfins by the end of next week, seems like a long wait.. but I won't have time to work on her anyway for a few weeks so it's okay.

Will start compiling another order from Mini Spares soon, would go with Moss.. but delivery is rape.

Erhh, yeah, that's about it. Stay tuned >_<
