I like the dash and Mini 1001 grille too, reckon it's the best looking grille & surround on a Mini.

Saw this on flickr a while ago...beautiful pictures of Inno!

BL UK were clearly influenced by the Innocenti Mini as UK Minis eventually got the same type of rear lamp cluster with the reversing lights and a similar type of switch panel.

It's also nice to know the Mini Cooper lived on with the Innocenti (up to 1976 anyway), but there was also the Spanish built Authi Mini Cooper which was very similar to the Innocenti and I imaging their even rarer now?

Cost we a whole 3 quid a couple of months at the Isle Of Wight steam fair.

Wow, 3 quid for a car, and you managed to park it on what seems to be the set of Art attack, everything is enormous!

My son Dominic bought that model at last years Castle Combe. He did get me to remove it from it's base, but after he'd forgotten about it I put it back on it's stand (I'd kept the screws and bits) and now it's proudly on display in my glass cabinet alongside many other Mini model favourites of mine.

:P

I was going to say 'Vision On' (yes I'm showing my age here okay). lol

Either way it's a cracking little model for the price.

The switches had to be changed for export markets due to safety regulations from the old 'mk1' style. As far as I know. Same reason export Innos got a rubber choke & heater cable knob and fixed quarter windows  (and probably all other Minis too).

I don't think it's solely down to 'inspiration'. Is it? :P

Yes I did via e-Bay (I stupidly didn't buy it when it first came out) and after many failed bidding attempts, I ended up paying silly money for it.

Mind you it seems to go for less if you bid at the right times. i.e. not at Xmas like when I got mine.

I've got a 1001 export that i will be restoring after the 1275gt, Both from early/mid 70's, the Inno is very nice, nice grill, quaterlights, clocks, indicator stalks (one for lights one for indicators), italian electrics (top notch i must say......NOT), Hazard light switch (not common on early mini's)

There is a lot of difference in them but they still rust in the same places!! lol

if you boys have a few grand I could kit you out with everythiing you need to make a 1300 export.
I have about 60sq M of Innocenti parts its works out at about 14 cars that have been stripped of parts.

the suspension cones, Tank, interior, roof lining, trim. seats, electrics. are also diffrent
