My 90bhp 1293 hit just under 120 on the rolling road, although no wind resistance, there is twice the rolling resistance on the tyres as there is 2 contact patches on each tyre. That is an accurate figure, as its obviously a calibrated piece of kit, so I doubt your 998 got anywhere near 118. Probably closer to 90 to be honest.

Going from a mini speedo is next to useless

:shifty:

Yours has lots done to it though, yours will shift, no doubt about that!

Been wondering for a while,

What is the rev limit of a stage one 998? I just kinda assumed it was 6500 as thats where the line is on guessworks website, although ive not taken it about 4.5k yet.

That reminds me,

What is the biggest limiting factor for getting high revs?

Cam, valve springs, rockers, fueling?

ever heard of the term valve bounce?? im pretty confident in saying that it would simply stop you reaching those kinda revs, but hey...if ya say so right :) :)

did you have your tacho set on the correct number of cylinders, sometimes it reads double or 1/2 depending if its 8 or 2 cylinders :o

as i said before, its what the rev counter was telling me but it was screeming :)

and it might of had harder springs but as i didnt build the engine i dont know exactly what was done.
