Where did you get the ACT clutch / fly from? I could only find places in the states!

Thanks

Good 'ol Funky power Clicky

Been told though by some Crx lot that the blueprint clutch I bought has been known to squeak? So we'll see, the flywheel is ACT and meant to be spot on :D

Most blueprint stuff is spot on so you shouldn't have a problem. Shouldn't being the main word

I've used blueprint stuff before and never had any problems, had a mr2 turbo running about 280 at the wheels with a blueprint clutch so hopefully this one can handle the pony power this ricer puts out

Haven't done much really, been stuck on trying to find parts so got alot done this weekend but on paper (well screen actually :( ) it dont look like much! :) For some strange reason I started doubting whether I put any thread lock on the flywheel and clutch pressure plate bolts before bolting it all back up, not sure why? Have you ever left the house and gone back to make sure you locked the front door? Yep thats what I did today. back track and waste a day, one step forward two steps back..... ;)

Here we go again!

Posted Image

I was right - schoolboy error, no thread lock :) Maybe I should stick with something more straightforward? Like lego? :)

Posted Image

Took ages for some reason getting it all locked up, thought I might aswell add some gearbox oil while I'm here, oils been sitting here......

Posted Image

Mind you I did get my DTA ecu kit from Watsons come through, nice and cheap! :) This is the price you pay when you dont understand electrics and dont want to take a honda loom apart!!! I did say to geoff to put an idiot guide in there and label everything up, which he did, expect I still dont understand electrics after getting it through :(

Posted Image

Posted Image

Kit includes a ford DIS coil pack (so no honda dizzy for me) and my crank pulley which has been modified by geoff where he 'adds' teeth to the outside...

Posted Image

which hooks up to a pickup sensor which mounts on this bracket using the honda alternator holes

As usual progress is slow, at this rate I will be walking to Le Mans ;)

Had a couple of bits I've been trying to source now without any luck, needed a replacement oil sump, not easy to find unless you want to drop off £242 to honda :dontgetit: also needed some inner cv's joints as I didnt get any driveshafts with my engine and they needed to be the right ones as I got the allspeed shafts, and there are multiple cv's about, great more headaches! :)

So my only saviour this weekend has been in the shapely form of The Stig from TMF, he had the exact bits I needed and he helped me out. Thanks again for this Sean really appreciated fella :(

He also welded in a baffle kit I sent him and sent the whole lot back

I found the circlips aswell mate ;)

Deadline is still june, got a couple of changes planned already to the build to give myself a 50/50 chance of finishing by then, as at this rate I'm gonna struggle big time, besides its been 3 months since I last drove a mini! :)

Need to get my finger out......from somewhere

S40 Pro, I think its the only one Watsons use? I got track n road just across the water who can map it, he said he's done quite a few from watsons so roller time should be minimal.......pending on my electrical put together though! :dontgetit:

I'll be honest, I only bought this to get a pre made wiring loom in there, I really dont do electrics in any way shape or form! :)

Ah i just wondered as I'm probably going DTA on my build too. I will also get it mapped at track n road as they seem to be the best when it comes to DTA stuff!

Budget? Depends on your skills? So I don't use one! Seriously mate, have a figure then forget about it, as in my case ;)
Knob? I'm gonna try and use it to fool my passengers when I go for fifth.....
Clocks? Plan is to use the standard mini 3 clock nippon setup, the rev goes to 8000rpm which is nice even though the speedo hits 110mph??? Again, if you get in my car, it has to look mini, not modified :dontgetit:
Service? The guys at my local honda keep asking "is it ready? pop it up, I want to see" If I can nab a free service from them for the first year then yeah I'll pop it up! :)
