Well weve just got back having stayed in a hotel sunday night , the reason there was no TMF bonnet signing was due to my new engine exploding , and us not arriving at CP till 2030 sat evening , however the TMF banners were enough to attract the usual suspects into the BBQ area , a rather drunken craig who was tied to the chair to prevent injury , harbour and shorty made sure he didnt come to any harm , neil and hannah along with tom sampled some of our finest BBQ chicken marinated with wife beater , and to all the others who randomly appeared to chat around the BBQ / join in the moaning about my car you know who you are.

I was with Josh and co a couple of cars up from you, I was the one that commented on you putting petrol in your rad
Hah yeah. I think you, Samsernie and Purplehedgehog were the only TMF'ers i had a chat with. I think i saw Robbie1's and Minijon's but i didn't want to approach em just in case i was mistakenAlthough we were bumming around til quite late, we weren't the ones with the air horn.
Well, they decided it was a good idea to blow it about 6 feet away from our tent just after midnight as i was just about managing to fall asleep.. Next year, i'm going to get plenty sleep the night before the trip down to CP. Either that or not bother with the run pack and get up at half 7
I know who it was, they went round the whole campsite doing it and yes they're on here to!!!
Our L2B this year is a bit mixed really,
We left peterborough with me leading our convoy of 8 cars to the Ace cafe for lunch, which was good. The trip from the Ace to CP took an hour which isnt too bad and we drove through some posh parts of london. We had one car breakdown at the traffic lights at the top of the hill near CP and i had to push it into the park for the AA man to look at.
I swear the queuing starts earlier every year to the point i didnt even bother getting any sleep until id moved the car and the only got an hour or so. upon starting the smiffy i noticed it wouldnt idle properly and the revs kept dieing.
We were 10th in line 2 and left CP around 09:00am as the smiffy still wasnt running great and the traffic jams were bad we decided to follow our satnav and cut down a side road which runs parrellel to the main route and joined it at that funny square round about junction thing (the one that always has building works being down on it) this cut 30mins off our predicted arrival time without taking the jams in to account.
The smiffy continued to play up all the way to MD but it only took us 1H45Mins to get there including a quick rest break at Pease pottage where i met a fellow TMFer and smiffy owner.
upon arriving at MD we were luckily directed towards the autotest area and parked opposite the cafe. After speaking to somebody on the Vmaxscart stand (many thanks if your reading this) we diagnosed the likely cause was a faulty coil pack, unfortunately NONE of any of the traders had a spare one with them (even though they all commented its a common fault and i was the third person to ask for one). So we had to limp him home (175 miles) all the way back to Bourne.
I think the run packs could be handed out the evening before with a camping pass token or
once your car has been put in the queue they gave every person a ticket with a number on so that the first person has number 1 and so on. This person would get their run pack first etc etc, that way they could set off the first cars earlier.
This would ease the traffic jams and you wouldnt end up with cars being in the early rows with out drivers who are waiting for run packs.
