i was just ecstatic that my Mini didn't break down. There were some points where the temperature needle was going worryingly high, but the car kept going.

On the way home, i realised the engine is cooler at 70mph that it is at 50! :) Although the revs sound very high at those speeds :P

because there is more air cooling the car through the grille.

i had a bit of a hot moment with the car so i pulled over and poured some water over the radiator and was well away, after we got my sisters started again

the exhaust fell off...(suprise suprise)

LOL Jimmy have you ever completed a single journey without your exhaust falling off?! :P Oh how fondly I remember the days of stopping every mile or so on a run to reattach it ;) :)

Yeah, i had a feeling the strain of revving higher on the engine would counteract the extra air but i guess i was wrong.

Were the rumours true though? Did a member of the public crash his car because he was too busy looking at the Minis?

oooh you took a piccy of my Mini, yay :P

I saw it too. I was going to try and find you for a chat since we're both Mini model people but ive not the slightest what you look like!

I pretty much look like my avatar and signature piccy hehehe ... I am sure you will see me around one of my fleet at a show at some point, if not i am usually on the www.HAMOC.co.uk (Huntingdon Area Mini Owners Club) clubstand at shows so i can normally be found there if i am not actually by my car :)

Normally happens to at least one randomer per year! Concentrating on the little ones instead of themselves :D

I wish I still had my Mini sometimes, I couldn't be doing with L2B campsite (as anyone who's seen photos of me and Josh on the Sunday the last time we went will verify :)), but driving through London in convoy was so exciting ;) Lots of tooting and waving and smiling, happy times indeed :P

I didnt do too bad, I was in the queue for a run pack for about an hour, got back to my car to find everyone had gone around me so jumped in and left out of the lower carpark entrance about 8.15ish I did get through london ok but it started gettin busy in brighton at 9.45 was parked up on the front at 10 I left at 3.30 and got home at 8.30

spent the whole 450 mile trip with my left hand on the gear stick to keep the bugger in 4th and I majorly crunched it into 2nd at the lights just outside cp if anyone heard me lol

Not too bad a time but just fatigue from not sleeping much in cp, I knew from last year that I wasn't going to get much sleep tho, managed a whole 3 hours which from what I hear thats more than some people did :)

I left Ipswich at 5 am to head to Crystal Palace, and within 10 miles had broken down, complete loss of all electric's. After an hour on the side of the road, managed to get going again, and got to CP at 815, missing out on the brekkie at Thurrock on the way to make up some time :)
Joined the long queue and within 10 minutes had my runpack... am guessing i missed the worst of it from the sounds of it. Left CP, stayed mainly to the route through London apart from one detour, stopped for fuel at Pottage Pease or something, then headed to Brighton. Did my usual way around Brighton, same route as the route used to be, and was parked on Madeira drive by 10.10am.... not sure what your all moaning about :P

Shame about the cold weather, but was good day apart from that, oh and the torrential rain on the way home at thurrock. Inch of water both sides front and back... hmmm

we had a fantastic weekend , the camping at crystal palace was pretty good although i prefer the old way of 'turn up and camp where you like' but it was pretty good.
no problems on the run down to brighton exept the engine running a little hot in the traffic jam on the a23. so i turned the heater on and that leveled the temp out at about 92/93oC .

brighton was good execpt the rain! it only started to rain as i got the polishing cloths out lol!

will upload some pictures in a few mins.

oh by the way , it was nice to meet harbor07 and minimadcraig (and 2 others i cant remember sorry) just as i was leaving brighton.

:) I crashed into the back of a Vectra last year, all they got was a tiny unnoticeable scratch, such little damage they didn't bother claiming, and i had a grille and front repeaters to replace! And my bumper was made wonky. Minis really are made of cardboard in accidents :P

EDIT: Just want to get it clear, it was icy and my brakes locked up, hence the crash.
