i'm sure its gonna be fine for the mot!!!

and the bonnet is staying all red - we're not going for a cooper look for it

ok so day 66 ..... 2 days to the mot.....

i'm extremely please to say everything is ready for the MOT!!!!

dad re adjusted the tappets and soldered the rad and adjusted the timing,

then me and pecks fitted the rear number plate light housing - its got a nice finger print in now!! LOL

then .......


we went for a drive........

pecks very kindly let me drive

it didn't start out to well as, as we reversed out of the garage something went chunk..... but it all seems to be fine, so it was probably just the suspension settling.....

anyway, took it half way up the lane and back - it went REALLY well and sounds quite meaty - for a standard 998 with a standard exhuast......

then the brake test went perfectly - pulled in a complete straight line and stopped really quickly - i was well surprised it pulled in a straight line i was sooo prepared for the back end to kick out a bit....

but prefect brakes and prefect everything else really happy with it!!!

Thanks for the comments guys, i'm soooooooooo happy with it, can still can't quite believe its done after 66 days!!!, its not quite right.....

we're taking the mini to Silly mini sunday this weekend, then possibly bristol mini day, castle combe and a few others, the thing is pecks hasn't got anyone else to drive it and she'll normally take her mini to shows etc, and i've got my own 2 minis that i swap between... so untill Tanya passes her driving test and gets on the road it won't be out much

i'm quite excited to go on the massive test drive before sunday - but quite dreading leaving it behind at peck's house as i go home and not have it........

i'll have to pop by every so often and rob it for a day or too.... no one will mind!!!

but the reaction of tanyas face when she sees it all finished and sees the custom badges that she doesn't know about, and take her for a drive in it will WELL make up for it!!!

well it passed!!!! wasn't worried to be honest!!!

we did have a slight problem with the brakes/indicators as they were randomly working then not - and i forgot what fuse they ran off!!!

but a quick wiggle of the wires got them through the MOT and a new connector (thanks Skimmed) has solved it propery!!

it rans really really well, and pulls well too (got the speedo above 70.....) god knows what how good the speedo is tho, because we have changed the diff, so i'll have to stick a sat nav in there to work out how it reads!!

i've got a few days of a empty garage before Mr Skimmed mini comes in for new floors i'll start a thread on that when we start on it.....
