Day 60 - 8 days to the MOT..........

fitted the wiper motor braket inplace, then the aerial

Posted Image

its stupidly long.....

Posted Image

then the front brake fixing kit

Posted Image

then the handbrake cable

Posted Image

and fonzy fitted the gearlinkage and CV boot clips....

Posted Image

it went through all the gears fine..... so thats a good sign.....

then i stuck the rear wheels on to adjust up the brakes - they need a good clean!!!

Posted Image

and pecks fitted the over sized front screen rubber to the car rather than the glass and it was fine to i'll stick it back on the front screen tomorrow night - she also put the door rubbers on and the side window rubbers - i've dug out the skys old C piller trims for it as the ones in there have a fair bit of red paint on...... FAIL

then she put the dash all back together - i forgot to take a picture tho :( - and the stereo will go in for testing tomorrow....

i also replaced a dodgy inline fuse and now the fog light works
Posted Image

so all the electrics now work >_<

and dug out the exhuast to go on it and a old one with some fitting on
Posted Image

the exhuast to go on it came free from our club members who helps as pick it up with the trailer - the exhuast is like new!!!

then once i have swapped the fitting over - the exhuast connected to the 2 back mounts and lined up at the front to fit on the manifold....

Posted Image
tomorrow night pecks is off on mother dutys.....

and hopefully i'll get it running - once the exhuast is on it should start fine........

it will be a massive step forward!!!!

we are lacking in a few finishing bits and bobs, spring for the bonnet catch - a floor grommet, screws for the arches + grille........ but hopefully we should have them alll by the weekend......

Day 61..... 7 days to the MOT

MOT is offically booked!!!!

went up tonight covered the rear parcel shelf in black vinyl and reglued put of the rear seat

then dad had taken the stereo to be checked and it was fine, so plugged it in and

Posted Image

it works whoop whoop

then i fitted the exhust to the manifold - i'm very well practiced at this after the sky went through a phrase of only lasting a few days before it started blowing again !!!

so with that fitted, we chucked some water and petrol in it, then after a minor water leak from the temp sender and a minor fuel leak from the pump to carb/fuel filter pipe:::

Posted Image

it runs :(

with a healthly spark  - the tappets need reseting but apart from that its fine

we also tested the clutch, went through all the gears alright again, and we ran it in first and second :) - while sat on the floor LOL - almost went 30mph!! LOL

we have to 'alter' the water pump slightly too, we had this problem with the sky and is resulted in the fan belt snapping, then it overheating and eventually a new rad and head gasket.....

Posted Image

the waterpump is pushing the alternator out too far and its not inline with the other pulleys - so i'll have to take the alternator off and get a grinder in there......

also fitted the new parcel shelf and the bracket for the high level light - i'll finish putting it on when the rear screen is in..
Posted Image

and put the Skys old C pillar trims in to replace the red ones.....

and took the front rubber off the car and back on to the screen

Posted Image

god knows what pecks was doing with it!!! FAIL PECKS!!!

then fitted the stereo in the holder
Posted Image

it did decide not to work again then i re-earthed it from the heater screws to the door pin switch hole..... i'll drill i hole under the dash and earth it there.... the main thing is it works - i've just gotta fit the ipod adaptor for tanya now!!!

oh and Day 62... 6 days to the Mot.. is a Epic fail already - pecks is out on the town and i'm out on the leaving do for my old work after they made us all redundant - luckly i've been in my new job for 3 weeks now and really happy there :P

day 63...... 5 days to the mot.....

right we've done LOADS today - probably missed half of what we have done off too

errr. fitted the bonnet - which needed a some extra welding on the hinges as it was flexing on them.... fonzy have to move the hinges when he lined up the front end as there wasn't enough adjustment on it

Posted Image

then tanya has been fitting the underlay and seatbelts

Posted Image

Posted Image

Posted Image

ben er played a lot then fell over and cut his knee :P

Posted Image

then the boot went on

Posted Image

then after a MAJOR struggle the front screen went in
Posted Image

it has got to be the worse screen we have ever fit.... the rubber was slightly too big and kept coming off the screen was we were trying to fit it!!! - my and tanners worth both hoding things in place as dad pulled the rop.... it really wasn't good!!!

Posted Image

then the back screen went in much better

Posted Image

high level brake light ohhhhhh :(

tanya doing something

oh yeah pecks put the wheel arches on and i put the seam strips on

Posted Image

and we had Tanyas ipod playing throught the stereo

Posted Image

then the back seats and doorcards went in
Posted Image

Posted Image

and tanya got very excited and felt the need to sit in her mini with her seatbelt on....

Posted Image

then the full carpet went in :P

Posted Image

and the doors and front wheels :) - after we tightened the hub nut earlier!!!

Posted Image

then we thought it would be a good time to waxoil the doors and rear subframe, so the doors are left open dripping of waxoil!!!

Posted Image

very productive day - and off for a test drive tomorrow - just a shame our garage is on a muddy farm ;) - there will be a muddy mini tomorrow.....

oh yeah - both bumpers are on - just none gen ones are completely pants!!!!!

and the rear side windows are half in, then screws at the back aren't done yet as the skys old c piller trims dont have the holes for the opening rear windows and it was the last thing we did - so that will be done tomorrow...
