litlle update guys and girlies
i went to sc and got the washers, i have decided that i am going to paint the upper arms blue after all.
so i am going to do this on friday. along with stripping down the hubs and swivel joints, getting them painted, greased and back on the subframe where i can hope to brake calipers cleaned off and rebuilt next week. hopefully i should be getting some help also this week with the body work that needs to be done.
pictures to be uploaded soon

The engine looks like it might be a real oldie, it's got a dynamo 'n 23d dizzy.
Red oxide is just a colour nowadays - it used be made from lead oxide, hence how it got the colour and name. I think Finnegan's No1 is good, or something containing phosphoric acid to convert the rust.

That engine is either an 850, 998 or maybe an 1100 (although I'm pretty sure 99h is 998cc). Definately not a 1275. On all 1275's 2 of the 3 bolts that hold the thermostat housing are parallel to the front of the head, on small bore the housing is twisted round a bit more. Car's looking great by the way! Love all the subframe bits! Dan

so a couple of nights ago i took off the cyclinder head, so i could find out if anything had been done to this engine. and i found out a couple of things. the bores have a little wear in them, i dont know how severe, they are would proberly need someone the come over and have a look who is the local expert to me ??
so upon taking the head off i found out that it also has +40 flat topped pistons
its annoying i dont know the size of the bore, as i also found out that the engine code has been put back on the wrong way round. so is this the right code ?
so block a side i then took a look at the valves and rocker. it has knew push rods, and the valves look a bit crispy. proberly could do a do with a complete strip down and rebuild
will do another update tommorow after i done the work
night guys !

+40 on a 998 is 1098 isn't it? Unlikely to be anything other than a bored 998 I should imagine.

Right so over the last week i have decided to take off the rear sub frame ...... so i can break it down and remake it :Genuis:
so i removed the sub frame and started to think about the colour scheme i am going for, which as most of you know if speedwell blue so to contrast with the blue i decided to paint the drums yellow, i would love peoples opinion on these as i am still unsure if people say it looks Poo then i will respray them to suit the front subbie.
once i had disembled the radius arms i resprayed them reattached the drums and newly painted drums.
What do people think of the colours ??? Please tell. dont want a funny lookin mini
Rear Hi- low, again if it looks funny please say.
Hi- low and rear arm.
Newly painted subframe.
i mite infact repaint the Hubs and rear Hi-low Pole thingie do wotzit black and just have the yellow drum what do you all think ?

i think it'll look pretty cool really, something differnt to the standard "paint them black and silver" replies lol im thinkin of doin my suspension in white, i know it gets grubby under the mini, but it jus gives people something else to spot thats differnt than theirs! keep up the good work!

Rear sub frame re assembled, body work is starting soon
colors have grown on me , after puting it all back together i then realised that the back plates were on the wrong way round. so ill be swapping those soon.

I think you've installed your backplates on the wrong sides.
The brake cylinder should be at the bottom.

Looking good, never been a fan of painted drums, but yours are growing on me. The Hi Lo's etc look awesome.
