I have done it before once with hammerite just to cover panels over winter, however the finish didn't turn out as good.

You really need the proper paint to do it to get the proper finish.
The paint i used was Type 1K 100% Full Gloss, Dingbro is a Scottish Motor Factor that supply to all coachworks, so i am assuming that other Motor Factors across the country will stock the same paint.
I had previously Etch Primered the body, so i sanded the previous paint down to the Etch primer, as this reacts with the metal to protect it, so saved re-primering the body.
The paint i got can be rollered right out the tin, no thinning needed so saves time & hassle!

I painted my daily mini using this method. Very happy with the results as well, considering the low price it cost me!

after :teehee: the colour may not be to everyone's tastes, but I quite like it. It's not yet been wetsanded and polished!

I just masking taped up all tricky areas (windscreen rubbers etc...) then used a fine brush to paint round the area's the roller wouldn't get into, turned out well and no brush marks!
