I just went through this whole thread. Great work. I love this car and was having a look at it while down in newquay. I think I may even have taken some pics of it. I'll have a look. I agree with everyone else though. Get it in a mag.

EDIT: I did get a pic of it.

How low do you go.ive had an issue with the ride height on vini ever since i fitted the beam axel,so today i thought i would tackle the problem.a couple of weeks ago i thought i would chop some metal off the springs.as a consequence it didnt drop the ride height at all and only made the back end more bouncy.so the plan today was to take even more metal off the springs.
heres a pick of ride height before the chop.......
Posted Image
pics of the coilovers stripped down ready for butchery lol.

underneath of vini without his shockers.
Posted Image
this is how much height ive taken off the springs lol
Posted Image
and the coilovers built back up ready to go back on vini :dontgetit:

this is the end result!still plenty of space under the rear arch, infact still to much, but i havent got a lot of room left under the exhaust lol plus i still feel its not firm enough on the suspension side of things.so job for tomoz is to take a few more coils out lol.in for a penny in for a pound ;) Dean

Can't you buy lowered springs for them?

It was lower than a snakes nob before, you'll be collecting cat's eyes before long!!!!!!!!!!

Good to see you've still got your enthusiasm for Vini and that subaru isn't distracting you too much.

You going to be at combe?

mission accomplished  vini is now officially slammed as low as he can go lol. cut a few more coils off the springs and adjusted the springs to the max.had to modify the inner arches where the coils sit.cant get my fingers between the arches and the tyres now lol but thats what i was aiming for and now the suspension is a lot more rigid now  Dean
even more coils cut down
Posted Image
modified inner arch.
Posted Image
think im gonna have to trim the threads on the exhaust clamp lol

Why have you cut the coil spring where the suspension travel comes from? The smallest bump will coil bind now as you have no travel left, let me know if I'm missing something fundamental here

Cheers
David
