because it was the uncoiled spring that was causing the uncontrolable bouncing of the back end.if i had cut the other end it would have lowered the car but i would have still been left with a bouncy back end.the way i have done it has lowered to where i want it and stiffened the back end up.just come back from a test run and the ride is perfect there is method in my madness and it works lol DeanWhy have you cut the coil spring where the suspension travel comes from? The smallest bump will coil bind now as you have no travel left, let me know if I'm missing something fundamental here

Im looking into the conversion my self so i got a few questions because youve done the closes to what i want.
Is that an MPI rad your useing?
What gearbox setup is it, and what revs does it do at about 70?
Also do you know roughly how much power its putting out?
Cheers

hi burnard thanks for the thumbs up yes the rad is an mpi rad which i took into my local rad specialist who kindly rebuilt it with an extra core.the gearbox is an f13 box from an astra which to be honest is a bit high reving.i dont use 1st gear at all because of the lack of traction so i will soon be fitting the f13w diesel box for better acceleration and top end cruising speed.vini is currently running just over 3500 revs at 70mph on 10"wheels.i had him rolling roaded about 2years ago.aparrantly i was losing a lot of power due to an over exagerated air intake lol but this has now been resolved.he pushed out 95bhp from the flywheel and 69bhp at the wheels but with some impressive torque DeanCar looks amazing dude defo worth a try for the mag.

The rad and clutch are the only bits of the conversion which are still a bit undecided for me then.
Was the standard MPI rad not quite enough to keep everything cool then?
Looks like your running the standard injection system on that, but still very good figures, bet it goes like stink

the standard mpi rad was fine about town but did creep to scary temperatures when doing motorway work, but when i took it in to the rad guys they said it was blocked solid lol.i would have prefered a larger rad but with space a bit tight the only way i could go larger was to increase the depth on it.now it keeps perfect temp no matter how hard i drive him im still running the standard injection system but plan to run throttle bodies at some point in the near future DeanThanks for that.
