bought myself a blue cargo net for the back seat area, while i was fitting it and pottering around i happened to notice daylight down in the bottom of the rear passenger side bin.it didnt look to bad at first glance but once i got the screw driver down there and started prodding about it was apparant that some serious patchwork was needed so it was time to drop the rearbeam and get the anglegrinder in there to clean up >_<

next job was to cut up a frosties box and make a template for the steelwork.after welding the piece in place, the welds were ground down and a few layers of hammerite applied.while the beam was down i thought it would be a good idea to check outt the drivers side bin which was solid so i gave the area a clean up and treated the whole back end to another few coats of hammerite

went to malvern today and done a bit of shopping.bought myself some new subframe bolts and after much deliberation i also bought vini a carbon fibre rear bumper.managed to get home with a few hours light to play with so got my rear beam remounted and also remodified my exhaust to get a bit more ground clearance and of course put my new bumper on  Dean

p.s just noticed my new bumper is sitting a bit wonky lol

right then,a few updates from last weekends work.after finishing off the welding on the back end of vini i noticed a few rust bubbles forming on the rear quarter.so after a good clean up and a paint of some kurust this is what i ended up with.
Posted Image
since taking this pic ive welded in a new piece of metal and added some filler.unfortunatly it hasnt stopped raing long enough for me to get any primer on it so fingers crossed for some fine weather this weekend so i can finish it.
as the weather wasnt ideal for body i decided now was as good a time as any to get my gearbox out ready for the new diesel box to go in.my plans for a brake upgrade also came in to play so they were stripped off aswell as hubs and driveshafts.after an afternoon of undoing nuts and bolts it was time to prize the box off the engine, but it was not to be.i tried all ways to get the box out of the engine bay but there just isnt enough room to get it out.bummer lol.
so this weekends job is to bolt the box back on and remove the engine and box in one go.ohh well might aswell start doing some engine mods while its all out lol
more news and pics over the weekend folks :D Dean
