Went out for my first proper drive in my mini after its MOT with Iain Stallard. All was going well until I discovered I could not get into gear as the clutch was not fully disengaging. Luckily we within a few miles from his lockup, so with a little push from Iain I was able to get it going. Using third gear for the whole journey was a laugh.
Anyway it turns out the bolts for the clutch hub had worked loose (due to the previous retard owner man) which was preventing the clutch from disengaging fully. Fitted a new clutch and it feels much better now. Thank you Iain for dragging me down to Godalming as I probably would have broken down on the London to Brighton run if I hadn't.

Paid for it!
also took the bucket seats out, removed the carpets, wire brushed the surface rust off the floorpan, hooooovered (oooerrr) and then kurusted the floor, then loosely fitted the new standard seats. tomorrow I'll take them back out and paint the floor.

Drove in a parade.. and a cruise.. and had it in a car show :)
It was the only "import" in the show.. the rest were old 'yank tanks' ;)

'fabricated' a fuel dipstick from a bamboo cane and some gaffa tape. Far more accurate than the guage on the dash.
