Fitted a powerspark electronic ignition system to my mini from www.simonbbc.com, it has made a huge difference to the running and feel of the car no more timing problems.

Gave it a treat and took it out for a drive after being parked up for 3-4 weeks for new front end and spray.

Cleaned up the engine, who would have known under all the filth that a goldseal engine really is gold lol!

Now toying with the idea of buying electronic ignition kit like killimari... especially with a day of fun and games learning to adjust timing and fuel mix.

got my mini from my mums place where i left it 3 years ago when i moved house.

got it home, cleaned it out a bit, full of stuff, and mounted the heather back, just the heather hoses to connect, and the electrical switches.

and the heater and choke cable

and found a newspaper in it from 10 december 2010 :)

based on much advice from this forum , I jet washed the engine after a soak with Gunk, came up very nice but two small issues: I stripped the paint from the rocker box (I was planning to respray it anyway so no big deal) and the small circular insert on the top of the brake master cylinder  resevoir cap went wizzing off like a flying saucer never to be seen again. Never jetwashed an engine bay before but spent some time protecting the electrics and afterwards it started first time :-)

Yesterday: Spent the best part of the day wondering why the fuel pump wasn't pumping, taking bits apart and putting back together to find that all I needed some more fuel...
