Should I be worried? I'm using 20/50 Comma Sonic and the oil was cold as I the engine wasn't running, I was just checking for oil pressure.Too much is as bad as not enough, as too much pressure could blow gaskets etc(ive had it before!)Had this reading over 100 before when checking for oil pressure:

Now to get the engine started and sort out the wiring.
Slowly getting there.
What do you suggest? Adjustable valve?
Also what pressure should I be looking at ideally?
Thanks,
Ian

There is a way to reduce the pressure, remove the pressure valve(CAUTION, spring!) Cut one tail off the spring, refit and check the pressure.
Ideal pressures are:
IDLE:
40 psi HOT
60-70 psi cold
consistant 60 psi under load

Made some alterations to my conversion sub frame, refitted it to the car and then trial fitted the front end back over it.
Its getting close but still needs a little work. Its just clashing in a few small areas but I have an idea of how to sort it. Just need another bank holiday weekend now so I can do them.

started to sand the roof with my new painfully expensive DA sander, and received my new spray gun!

Did a big service on the Cooper 'S' ready for MoT, but the washer pump has lost delivery pressure, so got to buy and fit a new one.

a BIG service? so you changed ALL the plugs?!
very extravagant!

Drove it, bought a couple of bottles of water in the shop "just incase" as I wasn't sure whether it was using water (again) or not, turns out he seems alright.

Haha... Another good one is to run the crankshaft bearings down to the copper. True story, the engine was running (not very well, I'll admit) for a good year or so with 40 psi on cold idle, and absolutely nothing when hot. A bit of gaffa tape has placed over the oil pressure gauge, because it scared us so much. It was still running when parked up in 2001.

Lapped in 4 ball joints ready to fit, and had a look at my speedo cable as I suspect that is what's squealing behind my dash when I drive (and it did seem to have a bit of a sharp turn, hopefully fixed now)
