Just successfully torqued up the head bolts. Very happy as I had previously cocked it up twice.

Fitted a new roof aerial, better radio signal now. A bit of suspension work to do and electrics checked over

In the most radical safety project since Leyland's SRV4 concept car, I engineered a deformable foam front crash structure for my Mini!

Actually i sprayed some Waxoyl behind the front bumper, but I still think that's as much extra safety padding as anyone has ever installed!

Popped the rear screen out as the seal was all cracked and found a little bit of grot to repair. Welded in a section about 2" long and shaped and primed. Also removed the rear side openers so all the glass is now out and prep has started for a re-spray.

Today, my wife built me an engine.
I supervised, and instructed, but she did all the work.
I timed the cam etc.
She did so well.

Still more to do, and she is quite keen now.

Coludn't do anything as I've been gas-flowing a cylinder head for a 1978 Ford Escort RS2000 rally car.

When you work on a Ford cylinder head you realise what a bad design the Mini head really is.

Had fun taking the Britax sun roof out, surprisingly easy but it's in a bit of a mess.

Fitted a new window runner to replace the one that was rotten on the drivers side door. Can't get window to wind down fully with new runner though?? Only goes 3/4 down then stiffens up :/ I'll have to take another look... at least it opens 3/4 of the way for now though

Refitted the drivers door, got it up on axle stands to remove all wheels ready to clean and fit new tyres, replaced the corroded fuel line from rear to front, then removed the rocker cover to set the tappets and discovered someone had fitted a 12g202 head to it at some point, it's a 998 so was quite happy to find a head conversion on it, all in a good day.
