Managed to reunite our MPI with her original Sportpack wheels she was sold with.

Met a previous owner that had kept them in his garage when he fitted some deep dish jobs.

They're in brilliant condition and tyres only ¼ worn. He even had the original proper wheel nuts and rover locking nuts too!!

Great result. The deep dish ones are well past a refurb and I didn't fancy the job.

Removed and fitted my exhaust after I twatted it on a speedbump that I didn't see during the week! Drove her and remembered life is too short to not drive the cars you love.

Also took delivery of a 74 clubby which I'm going to be doing some work on tomorrow!

Started stripping the Britax sunroof.

As fitted

Big hole

A couple of grotty bits to sort out

The front rail was a bit crusty O_O

But the mechanism and liner are fine. I've got another sunroof so will be combining the good bits from the two to make a decent one. I was going to make a new outer skin but the spare one is pretty good - but it's black.

Mocked up before giving it a good scrub

I dont think it looks too bad but I'm considering painting the roof black too.

Once I'de figured out that 4 weeks is long enough for modern fuel to go off ( :( ), I took mine out for the first spin since August last year

I also put together the final (I hope!) snagging list

Trying to chase a misfire under load, the only thing we haven't changed is the carb, im going to pull it off tomorrow and swap it for the old one that was fitted a few years ago(changed as we had the same symptoms....)

Sounds like a coil breaking down(has all new coil, rotor arm, cap, leads and plugs)

It sounds like its electrical, however it soots the plugs up, then when I clean them up it runs fine and then drops a cylinder

Jumped in it this morning as s spare of the moment thing and went to McDonalds for brekki, brought it back home and had brekki in bed :)

Am waiting a good dry day so I can change the oil, as it hasn't been changed since I bought it back in November 2015....!!!! But that was only 2500 miles ago :)

Fitted chrome door handles to match the chrome boot handle I fitted a couple of weeks ago.

However, as I was walking towards the car, I dropped the impact drill & it bounced onto the front bumper.
Nice little dent there now! :(

Got it running after lying up over winter. Took it for a spin to warm it up and then finally tried out the colortune kit I bought last year. The adjustment to the mixture seems to have fixed the run on I was getting so I'm happy.

Popped it on the trickle charger, almost ready to wake it from its winter hibernation.

I fitted USB sockets to mine, I'll be able to use Google maps on my phone for all the road trips I've got planned for the year now.

Passed the MOT today.. it failed at first on emissions at first, so I took drove it pretty hard back home and then back to the station. still it didn't pass, but the usual guy there who does the MOTs suggested something and whatever it was it passed... something about doing a slow idle and fast idle only... whatever it was it passed, it was pretty heart breaking to hear the engine been revved and holding it there, but I know they have to do that. anyway good news is its now passed with a clean sheet. looks like the 3 years of restoration pain have been worth it.
