Fancied having a go at making a flip lid rocker cover.

I want one!

Does it have a breathing hole or something?

I machined out the hinges and put a gauze in them, then drilled a hole through the side of the hinges and also through the lid.

That's a really cool, I wonder if some clear plastic would be strong and heat resistant enough to serve as the cover.

My goal for today was to get the alignment done. I started working on the rear and was adjusting the rear camber plates I have. I was tightening the outside nut on the pivot shaft use the torque specs from the N/M column. The only problem was I was setting the wrench in LBS/FT. Much cursing ensued after the threaded end popped off.

So now I'm ordering another shaft and hoping like heck that I won't have to completely redo the bushings.

Checked the cam timing after fitting the cam to in the 1293 build at the weekend,  Kent 266 cam should be 106 degrees ATDC minus around 2 for the chain stretch, I got 104.25 degrees just from fitting the vernier chain and gears as is from the manufacture  :gimme:

Waded through the Minispares website and worked out the mild restoration of my car is going to be around £2000 in parts.

Not very exciting but this novice did his first oil, oil filter, air filter and spark plug inspection on a 95 Spi. Took my time and learnt a few things as I went as we always do... ;)

Noted spark plugs had distinct grey tinge to them and were by unipart rather than the usually suggested NGK. Other than that we seem ok!

Like I said not very exciting but it's an important start

Had to weld the rear subframe as it simply wasn't attached to the car......... god knows how it hasnt killed me....

Anyhoo, all I have to do is adjust the handbrake and tidy it up and take it to the test centre..... I got me some beer so I can sleep, otherwise I'll not sleep....

The weight of that battery you've been carrying around probably kept the back end in place ;D

Well done, you should be pleased you've made the attempt. Everyone has to start somewhere.
