[Midas Mk1]

Give my engine block its 4th coat of paint, if I only knew how rubbish hellfrauds engine paint is!!!!

 

I've found with engine paint to put the tin in a bucket of hot water for a few mins, goes on looking rubbish, but dries pretty good

Dad and I have been putting the engine back together. Crank +60 pistons, all new bearing all went in great. Gearbox is back on and the timing chain is all set. Of course I have lost the oil thrower on the end of the cam so a new one is on order. I then moved on to putting the clutch assembly back in and then noticed my new throw out bearing doesn't fit the original plunger so a new plunger is also on order as well with new gaskets for the diff and the speedo housing. I'll be damned if my newly rebuilt engine is going to leak oil... who am I kidding its a mini and will always leak no matter what I do but I gut can dream. Shipping from the Uk to Canada take a couple of weeks so I am going to putter about with a few things and do some work on my 2007 mini cooper s.

Did nothing on the Mini but thought I would get rid of some old mini bits down the local tip, (rusty old exhaust and a rear bumper that had been painted silver) when I got there I saw a sorry looking Mini with an elderly gentleman, when I looked at the rear of his car the bumper was badly dented, I asked if he would like my silver one and his face lit up.
