After only using the car to commute for the last couple of months, MITP has really inspired me to spend more time looking after it, as I know I should! I amazed myself at how nice it looked when I cleaned it.

On the tmf stand, tucked away in the middle!

I bought some new bits at mitp. After seeing Olis boot liner in his car it confirmed that I wanted to try one and I found a new one with labels still on for £15 at the show. Much to shiftys dismay I didn't offer him £10 but I'm happy  I've got it fitting better now but it does rattle a bit over some bumps.

With a big big thanks to Nige, I have a black steering wheel to match my gear gaiter. To me it looks odd after a couple of years of sitting infront of a cream one, but I think I think it looks better!

Also picked up a couple of bits I've wanted for a while. Some seat adjustment brackets as recommended by my physio (which need powdercoating black, the chrome looks awful!), and a stainless GB badge from Somerford.

So, I completely love Minis again and am back to trying to work out how to get this new engine in Flo! =]

Hey, not checked this in a while - nice progress mate. Wish I could have come to MITP this year! And I wish my car looked as tidy as yours does... If I had the money it would be at Sean's right now having a face lift/replacement! Are those seat brackets any good? Can't imagine they make a huge difference, but driving the mini at just over 6 foot 3 is bloody painful!

You'll have to get to a show some time with TMF Dave, it would be good to meet yourself and the car.

The brackets make a huge difference! I've since moved it forward and up a hole, and the improvement in driving position is like night and day. I put a minor tear in my meniscus just before christmas, which took quite a while to recover from, but although I can train again now I was still getting knee pain in my right leg when driving. The physio took a look at my driving position, said I was at a completely unnatural angle for my leg, and moving the seat back would allow my leg to sit straigher. So far so good! I'm only 5ft 10 so I can imagine at 6 3 they'd be a good thing!

They were only £4 but are a bit thin and look awful in the chrome. I might get some steel now and use these as a template.

Yes, I might make a pair myself. Being able to sit further back would make it a lot more comfy I imagine. I've not had a physio for a few years now but they would just laugh at my driving position. I'm tall, and most of my height is in my legs. I've got the seat as back as it'll go and I can drive without using hands easily. My knees can clamp against the sides of the steering wheel with my foot completely down on any pedal! >_<

I had the most boring looking Mini on the stand  I did wonder if anyone would recognise the AAA though. Should have said hi if I was around at the time!

James, I love the steering wheel! Suits the interior really well, mine is almost exactly like yours, (minus the full leather interior, and the fact Flo is in much more of a prettier state than my Sheldon lol) I have the cream MPi steering wheel too but mine is looking really worse for wear. Just a quick question, is it easy to swap the wheels over? Do you have to disconnect the battery so the airbag cant go off? I've been looking at a few MG TF wheels (they're the same arn't they) on the bay and I love the all black ones :P

Hey, Sheldon looks great too! The wheels are quite straight forward to swap over. You need to disconnect the battery for half an hour before starting, then remove the two torx bolts holding the air bag on. After that it's unplug the horn and undo the bolt holding the wheel to the column. My cream one was getting really scruffy too. Nige has the late type one with the cream at the top and bottom rather than sides which is such a better idea as they won't get so mucky then!

The TF ones are the same fitment but are a slightly different shape i think.
