Brakes bled, few niggles sorted - She's ready to go!! :P

No idea what will happen, but at least, if she fails, we'll have a definite list that we need to sort out - But I'm hopeful, lol :P

All insured for the year now though - Couldn't find anyone who would insure her for the day, as she's 12 years older than I am, lol :withstupid:

Everyone keep their fingers crossed for us! >_<

It might just be me, but that front tie bar also might be a bit bent.

Yeah, think you might be right!! :P K spotted it when she was up in the air ... not entirely sure what's going on there! :withstupid:

Mind you - I think the bushes have worn slightly on the tie-bars anyways, so will be taking a closer look at that when I can - I have some more here that I can swap with, if it is!! >_<

Thanks, Karl! :P

Blimey maybe my eyes aren’t as bad as I thought, how exactly they end up bent from normal driving i can't work out, but oh wells.

And fingers crossed for the mot.

Failed!

Both side lights aren't working - Though they were the other day!
Rear number plate light not working!

(I swear all of these were fine! :P)

Rear brakes aren't very efficent - I think they need new cylinders in both, really?

And - the O/S handbrake doesn't lock.

That's it!

Her body is solid - The only rust he found was surface rust!! ;D ^_^

Mind you - He checked her emissions, and they were off the scale!!! :errr: But Nora's too old to get failed on them!!

Will sort that out once she's through her MOT! ;)

If you are changing the wheel cylinders get the S type to suit the front brakes.
The rear compensator valve may be the problem. I struggle with my rear brakes at MOT time every year.

Mmmm, OK - I think a trip to MiniMail might be in order! ;D

They weren't very effective at all, lol :errr:

Front brakes are OK, actually - Much, much better than the drums! But I think we'll look into the options that you mentioned earlier - Just for a bit extra ooompf!!

I am proud of her though!! :P I think she's done amazingly!! ;)

I'm off to drive her home now!! ^_^ Meep meep!!

Got some brake cylinders now! Thanks hugely to Min-its!!

One side is all sorted and bled - Just the other one to do tomorrow :D

Ball joint did have some play in it, but we've tightened it all up again and it's much better now!

Still need to work out this side-light issue though. :errr:

Everything was working fine the other day, but now, she has no front, nor rear side lights - Rear lights don't even work when the lights are on main/dipped beam?

But the brake lights and indicators work fine!! :P

She's also lost her numberplate lights!?

Wondering if it's all because of a connection or an earth maybe - Could be a fuse, but she's only got 2 on the whole system, so don't think it is, as we've still got some lights!! :ermm:

Looked at the diagram in the haynes manual - the light switch is fed by a brown wire - no fuse - but the sidelights (front and rear then pass through an inline fuse - not the one in the fusebox - if you can locate the inline fuse you will probably have a bad connection there. I had the same problem on my 82 hle and it was the fuse, but by 82 the sidelight fuse is in the main (4 fuse) fusebox.
Mart.

Hi Mart,
Thanks for the info! It did actually turn out to be the in-line fuse area! It was all the connections up in that top right corner - The one for the rear loom etc. Cleaned all that up and she's as right as rain!!

So, now have fog lights, side lights, rear lights, numberplate lights!! :turtle:

However, got a problem with one of the brake cylinders :)

We were just bleeding the system through and the bleed nipple's thread has stripped & also taken the thread of the cylinder with it :) It's now chucking brake fluid everywhere!

Have sent a begging message to Greg (^^) - So fingers crossed!!

Otherwise - No MOT on Monday :dontgetit:

You've saved our bacon!! :dontgetit:

Thank you! :turtle:

... Work resumes on Nora tomorrow & hopefully shouldn't take long to sort!! (We've got a house to work on tomorrow!) :ermm:

But for now, I'm off to cook a nice Thai meal :ermm:
