hiya

my mini been to the garage twice now because its running rich and cooking the spark plugs they brought it back 2-3 weeks ago started her up today and there was a slight back fire until there was a massive back fire black smoke form exhaust then back to normal then the same thing every couple of seconds turned her off looked at the spark plugs and there black again and been cooked again and now im getting annoyed and she will be going soon as i just wont the car to work :(

Adjust timing, clean sparks, reset the fuelling, see what happens?

what do you mean by cooking the spark plugs?? are you on a carb or infection? what engine/carb?

what do you mean by cooking the spark plugs?? are you on a carb or infection? what engine/carb?

going black and cleaning them up and they just wont spark any more nothink coming from them new spark plugs and they spark but not for long they go back in the engone and then there cooked

What is the spark plug part number..... written on the splugs ???

its sooting the plugs up by the sounds of it, could be down to a weak spart, caused by ignition problems, but is most likely to be incorrect air/fuel ratio. what carb do you have, maybe someone could tell you how to reset it to a default seting....

the spark plugs where changed 2 weeks ago for the fourth time the air petrol was done 2 weesk ago aswell i dont know what caarb it is but its this one below

take the dashpot off, and see how far down the just is... its a hs4 carb by the way.

yh i dont know what the doshpot is and what you mean how far down the just is

ahhh the jet you see the garage did say that the jet was the wrong 1 but was modded to fit and was making the choke stick open but they said theyu sorted it :s

i dont think they have sorted it then. i think your best bet would be to source a good used carb and fit that.
