Good idea.

I need to check what the safety rules are first for track days and fuel tanks etc. Going through the boot shouldn't be too much of a prob as mileage wise i'll be doing very little.

I'll probs go metro tank as it may be cheaper than making an ally one (they do look cool in ally tho )

Ah good idea!

I might try that, although Minus doesn't have any seams so may be a tad tricky. I could take a reference from the boot aperture though.

The tank I may use might be a Metro unit if it fits, so the boot will need opening to fill up anyway, in effect both necks will be dummies.

I realise not everyone likes this but I do not want the original petrol tank in there as its a pig to remove the damper. As the car is intended for fun/performance i'm not too fussed about this as its likely i'll need to remove the dampers etc sooner or later.

Cheers

R

The paper template route is the way I drilled my hole. A MINI does indeed have seems for referance...theres a great big long one right in front of the filler hose! Theres also a ridge in the body work for referance. The hole location is a mirror image for the other side.....simplest way! Mark the seam, pencil rub the ridge, mark the hole....take it to other side...flip over and tape in place.

edit: OK...just noticed you said MINUS so no seams....duh
