Well sort of. I emptied the comb webbed piggy jar and ordered my Vivarium, and on the way back from the bank saw Pets at Home on my way past, remembered to pop in. Had a bit of a nose, they've got 3 Baby Berdies in atm, two dark colored ones and one light. One of the staff specilizes in Reptiles and will answer any questions, give a good go at sexing them etc before i buy it. £49.99 and the woman said she wouldnt expect them to go any time soon unless there POO started turning gold!

So im hoping i should have my Viv at home and setup by Tuesday next week latest, give it a day or two to get the temp right etc. So i can go down and pick up a Chester on Wednesday - Thursday! :P

(Gf told me its being called Chester. Even if its a girl :mrcool:)

Im really not a snake person, hate them with a passion, put my step brother recently had a Corn snake which was very friendly. Problem was it done that animal thing - You dont like a certain type of animal, so that type of animal always tries to get your attention.

good on you for getting things sorted the right way round, not just buying one then thinking about a tank as an after thought.

i would personally go for the lighter one, but it may be that hes just warmer than the others. but shows a sign of being healthy

chester could be a good name for a girl.

i got rex home today and hes settling in to his new home, i fogot to get a picture and hes asleep now so wont disturb him.

i gto a video of jesse and a picture that might interest you in 5 minutes or so

Ohh, Pets@home is bad for advice, just don't listen to anything they say if it's positive really ;) I'd know, I work there ;)

They call me now and again and i do hour's with them occasionly, until their Uni leavers go and there's space for me. Seriously though, you need no animal expertise what so ever. I'm more a fish guy myself and have had them my whole life, my nan breed's them too, anyway, my Pets@Home are getting marine fish soon, which is terrible because half of our tropical's are dead because of poor water qualities, toxic 'decorations' being put in the tanks, our coldwater tank's are NASTILY over stocked, theres often goldfish that die from being sucked to the filter intakes because the filters are the wrong type for fancy goldfish and they can't swim against the current's, and the amount of times that people have labled common's up as Koi is discraceful...

:D still, it's money, I'l be in a proper aquatics place by christmas i hope.

Haha! :D

Well i know that the Male have one bump under the tail and Females have two so that a pretty definitive answer. (Or is that the other way round? :teehee:)

The lighter one was just like the speckly type bits they have were different colors. I would of assumed the lighter one would be more likely to be female?

Either way, they all seem fairly mobile, cheasts off the floor, wide bright eyes etc etc. (They did have a piece of glass between the UV Tube and Viv though :D

Oh yeah and a piccy update would be nice mate :D I'll get some up to soon. Cant wait :-!

yeh he does, the first time i noticed was when i was downstairs in the garage (under my room) and my mum said she could hear my voice upstairs and whenever i was talking jesse would start going nuts trying to get to me

i dont think he understands me, more understands the tone of my voice. if i shout not to go downstairs or not to do something he normally stops what hes doing.
the other day i walked in and put my hand upto him and said come on then, and he started to climb my arm and up onto my shoulder.

Adam he is a nice big one.The video link is great.Corn Snakes can be a bit of a fast hand full. One i saw at a pet shop was a Black Racer so fast you would never get it back in the Viv.I found it best to sit on the floor handling them.Spiders can sence Fear also through there feet so do not pick one up if you fear them. The big ones do give a very nasty bite and a trip to the Hospital.
A women is for Christmas a Pet is for Life. :D
