Well I picked up the trailer with the help from a friend (Cheers Jamie). It needs a new rear valance and closing boards and a couple of patch repairs but overall it's pretty solid. So I'm going to crack on with it today and strip and cut out the bits I dont want/need.
We also picked up the other project but that's a whole other thread which Julia will be starting.
Right off we go . . . .

I started on the trailer with the grinder today. So far I have cut off the B-pilar bits level, chopped around the rear of the window to remove the parcel shelf and started on the drivers side deseaming to see what will be like. I have decided to deseam the rear as I think it will look better having the whole thing smooth. I also put a bracing bar across the B-pilars and down to the tunnel on the floor. Plus I've removed the seat flap and started chopping the rear bins. I dont have any pics today but shoule get some tomorrow. The subframe is nearly all seam welded, I just have to cut the rusty parts out like I've already done and replace them, piece of cake.

Sounds like you're copying my frame work, it does seem to work very well as my trailer body is really very stiff now.
Photo's please, may steal ideas from you too!

Yeah Dave, I have used your bracing idea at the front but will be doing the rear slightly different. What thickness angle iron did you use? I've used 2mm x 20mm x 20mm to try and keep the weight down but not sure if this is going to be strong enough? Hopefully it will be once it has been plated on top. Anyway here are a few snaps I took before coming to work. I have 2 grinders so one for cutting and one for grinding makes things so much easier and worth the extra £20. This is about 2.5-3 hours wor so far.

I used exactly the same, have got about 5 metres of it in there somewhere!
You'll need some box section for the draw bar too, 40x40x3 I think.

Ok I've managed to get a few more hours in the garage and have 90% completed the deseam on the drivers side. I've also filled the fuel filler hole, cut the drivers bin out and removed the seat back and parcel tray. Anyway I'll let the pics do the talking.

Filler hole after (still needs smoothing off with filler)
