Floor looks great. As does the rest of your work. What rust treatment and primer are you using? Can it be used on all car and ok to spray over.
Thanks

I'm using Vactan, but there's no magic solution for rust unfortunately! There was a little surface rust on the floor, but no pitting it virtually all came off with the twisted wire cup!

I'm not sure if it can be used everywhere, I wont be using it on exterior panels

It's been a while since I've been on TMF but your car is coming on really well Carlos. We've just decided to get our asses in gear & start working on the mini again after it's been collecting dust for over a year now :( I've got a friend who's going to come & help with the welding who is an expert welder on mini's so it shouldn't take that long to get that side of it done, then it'll be down to me to do the rest.

Yeah sounds good, I'll have some time off soon from work so I could pop over & take a look at your progress, maybe you can give me some pointers.

If you need any help with the sound deadening let me know as I've done extensive research about it for the Volvo's install I'm doing. ;)

Quick update,

Back seat and boot floor are both painted.

Handbrake quadrants have been soaking in white spirit overnight and the horrible sticky dirty grease has been removed, I rinsed them off with some brake cleaner, primed and painted them.

Photos to follow!

Painted quadrants

Also done some seam sealing!

Seam sealer seems to have a finite life once open, the new tin went on much better than the old one!

Had a go with Gravitex on the boot floor today.

It went well I think

And once it had dried

The aim is to get the solid mount strengthening plates in tomorrow then I can get the bottom of the car all the way up to the front stone chipped, along with under the front wings

Nice one mate.

Looking great. soon be on its wheels. There is a bloke that lives just round the corner from you that i used to work with. He is a top notch painter. Might be worth knocking his door? bet he would paint it cheap on the side.

Drop me a PM with his details please mate!

I'm going to spray the under side and inside to see how good I am. Hopefully this will give me a chance to practice before I do the outside

Stone chip - Done

IMAG12111_zpscb73eabc.jpg

It was a bit of a pig getting the gun into the front arches, but the spit made this a lot easier!

IF the colour arrives tomorrow I'll get the underneath painted ready for coming off the spit
