I know my next plan is going to be keyless start! There's a nice kit for an rfid reader! Simply plant the sensor in the drivers seat (range is up to 10cm) then have the rfid reader piggyback on the ignition wiring and bobs your uncle! simply jump in the car with your key in your pocket and press the start button!

are you removing the steering lock altogether?

In all honesty I hadnt thought about it. Ideally I would like to fit the corsa eps collumn and a collapsible section for safely so would either delete the steering lock or make it solenoid powered but that's something I'll plan for the future. Now my automatic lights are working correctly also I would probably use the corsa stalks and have a small switch for the side lights independent of the ignition.

I've been painting the heater box today.

 

Really enjoying making progress again.

 

It needs new foam on the flappy bit to make it seal. Any suggestions?

I think I used that stick-on door frame sponge, comes on a roll 1/2" wide?

Unfortunately because I'm an idiot I guessed how many screws were in it, and didn't order enough.

As its been a month I thought I'd update this.

Heater is all finished, new wires etc.

Engine is stripped and measured and gearbox is away with AC Dodd getting rebuilt.

I need some cash to progress things

First window done, what a nightmare.

 

I wish I'd just carefully trimmed up to the frame, but then I'm not sure that the old seals were watertight.
