A 2.4g difference across the 4 pistons, I hope to get this down to 0.1g

Today I weighed the con rods.

20160114_103253_zpskz1y1sl5.jpg

Although this is actually a little meaningless as they need balanced, and it may be that the heaviest rod isn't the one with the heaviest little end.

Then I made a rig for weighing the little ends

I've wrapped rubber from an old bike inner tube around the bearing in order to be able to clamp it so that the whole thing turns on the bearing only

Unfortunately I ran out of time, and I need to tighten that bolt in properly too

Monthly update.

The gearbox is back from AC Dodd and currently sat in the downstairs toilet. The block, crank, pistons, and rods are with him ready for work to begin.

I've also re-primed the engine bay, the finish just wasn't good enough for a brand new engine, wiring harness etc to be dropped in to.

Here's a nice little picture of the mains being cross drilled

thanks mate.

I've got plans to run some brake lines tomorrow as the lacquer isn't hard enough to polish

Little Update.

I've fitted the Goodridge hoses to the subframe and run the pipe around the front of the subframe.

Unfortunately I'm missing the banjo bolt which goes through the 3 way connector on the o/s of the subframe so I've placed a little order with minispares including clips to secure it to the front of the subframe.

I'm going to connect the pipe work to an old reducing valve on the bulkhead so I can get all the pipes routed before I buy a new one.

Parts have arrived from Minispares but it'll be easier to tighten the banjo bolt with 2 people, I've also put 3 clips along the front of the subframe to hold the brake pipe in place.

And, I've started polishing the crossmember, all the bulkhead is going to be exposed so it needs to look good
