Yellow top is not quite as good as the red top - apparently it has something to do with the timing belt pulleys ?? They can be changed to better ones but there may be other differences - also I have a red top (cover ONLY)yellow top? please explain- vauxhall speak is new to me. also, more details on that brake set up (mmmmmmmmmm)
The brakes - well I have most of the detail on our website, we manufacture them to fit YOUR 13" wheels so we would need a "silouette" of your rims with dimensions etc.....
maybe this link will help - http://www.mra-minis.../megabrakes.htm

With dizzy and no cat - 156bhp (astra gtes)
With dizzy and cat - 150bhp (astras, cavs, calibras)
Without dizzy with cat - 150bhp (astras, cavs, calibras)(93/94)
Then after 94/95 came the ecotec engine with 136bhp.
I myself had a diss pack XE with just exhaust, filter and no cat which was 162.2bhp and 158.3 lb/ft torque.
They are great engines and really love to rev, if you are going for tbs and mega-squirt, stick in some ARP rod bolts and you will be not far off 190bhp

On Topic.
I agree with Jammy, it could be better to get a donor car as you get all the electrical componets and you know the engine runs, as well as being able to sell some parts on on ebay to make up your money.
