Just done a HPI check (only person in the world to do it AFTER its been bought?? LOL). Needless to say its all above board. It's been loved by someone previously too, as its had a personal plate on it from '04-'06 - L10SGU

:)

Changed the rear exhaust rubber today, and sorted out why the fuel cap wasn't locking. The metal pin attached to the solenoid had just rusted away, so made a new one from 5mm Ti rod.

Now locks >_<

Also moved the engine into the garage so I can build it up over winter. Gonna buy a heated blanket for it

Nice work, love the new rod lol. I have vague memories of having to buy a new fuel filler cap solenoid for one of mine.. I think they used to fill with water and seize solid. If the area around the fuel filler is still solid, I'd get some waxoil in there (remove the trim panels in the boot/ rear seat back etc) on the inner/ primed surfaces. They do like to get grotty here (although nowhere near as bad as the Escort/ Fiesta of it's era) >_<

It's definitely NOT solid :(. Just need to bodge it up and keep it going over the winter. All the rust will definitely be sorted out next year when its a bit warner (and lighter!!). Complete new inner wheel arch me thinks. Might be able to do something with the wheel off from underneath, but its been too cold, wet and dark to really have a proper look.

Done a few bits to this, but nothing serious. Stuck a standard parcel shelf in, changed the wiper blades, and a couple of sensors. Also went to Kings Lynn at the weekend to pick up a fiberglass bonnet.

Next job is to change the track rod ends, and wiper motor. I'll also get hold of a spare ECU and make a loom up for the DTA over christmas.

Don't know if anyone really reads this, but I fitted some fogs the other day. 1.8's never came with any.

Wasn't very difficult at all.

Ordered some panels, and will be on a de-rusting session as soon as poss.
